It's not a happy halfa that comes through the doorway of Milliways tonight. But then you'd be annoyed too if your trick or treating and other Halloween festivities had been interrupted by an upswing in ghost activity back home.

"Chocolate milkshake, please," Dani requests as she hops up on a bar stool and thunks her forehead against the bar top. "Large." The ice cream treat appears as requested, along with a note. Curious Dani picks it up and reads through it, before crumpling it up and stuffing it in the pocket of her hoodie.

Great. Now Danny will be trying even harder to keep her out of here.

Once she is busy with her milkshake, there will be a boyfriend trying to sneak up on her, the way she does to him.

Of course, he does not have the stealth advantage of ghost powers.

Also, combat boots.

So you'd think he'd know better, right?

"I have been looking forward to this thing since Saturday," she says wearily to the boyfriend behind her. "Please don't do anything to make me spill it."

"Right." He walks normally the rest of the way and hugs her, carefully and non-spillingly, from behind. "Had a rough," he pauses before guessing, "weekend?"

Mmm, boyfriend-hug. Dani leans into the embrace gratefully.

"Pretty much the understatement of what's left of the year," she replies. "Mischief Night, Halloween and Day of the Dead...I'm surprised I managed to get my homework done this weekend!"

Puzzlement! "I only know Hallowe'en. What're the others?"

"Day of the Dead is a Spanish holiday usually on the first two days after Halloween. It's when the Spanish and Mexican people honor family members who have died." And Dani can't complain that she doesn't learn anything useful in class.

"Mischief Night is the night before Halloween, when kids go around and pull pranks like TP-ing houses and soaping people's car windows. So of course almost every resident of the Ghost Zone has to get in on the 'fun'."

"Oh, brother. So, four days straight of major ghost time?"

[ami_imperfect]

"A-yup." She nods. "I had to deal with Youngblood most of Halloween night. Put a serious crimp in my trick or treat time, I'll tell ya."

"He's the one grown-ups can't see?"

[ami_imperfect]

"Mm-hm." Another nod. "I think Danny might have had trouble seeing him, too. At least I had Kelly and Everett to help."

Our little ghost-boy is growing up. *sniffle*

"What was he dressed as this time?"

[ami_imperfect]

Dani chuckles. "A ninja. Which got Everett and Kelly into the whole 'pirates vs. ninjas' debate."

Pirate, ninja, cowboy! The trinity is complete!

Enzo laughs and leans against her. "Who won?"

And lo, there's a pregnant Game sprite at her side with a vaguely concerned expression on her face.

"Hey, Spook. Rough day?"

"Hey, AndrAIa." Dani greets said Game sprite with a tired smile. "More like a rough weekend."

Dani's bangs get an affectionate ruffle as AndrAIa heaves herself up onto a stool beside her.

"What happened?"

[ami_imperfect]

"Halloween weekend in Amity Park happened," she responds. "Ghost activity went through the roof, practically."

The Game sprite arches a brow.

"Wasn't Danny able to help you, or was it just that busy?"

[ami_imperfect]

"It was that busy," is the answer. "Youngblood was acting up again, so Danny had us dealing mainly with him."

"Well at least it's over now, right? Did you get to do any Halloween stuff afterwards?"

[ami_imperfect]

"We managed to get a little bit of trick or treating in before and after the ghost attacks. And Mom made us Halloween brownies."

[notascreensaver]

AndrAIa smiles, and Dani's hair gets another ruffle.

"I'm glad you had fun, Spook; sounds like you're settling in well."

[ami_imperfect]

Dani grins back.

"I am. I miss Milliways, but Amity Park has really started to feel like home."

[notascreensaver]

"Well Millways was your first real home, wasn't it? It's understandable that you'd miss it."

[ami_imperfect]

"Yeah." She nods.

"So, how 'bout you? How're things in Mainframe?" AndrAIa's pregnancy hasn't gone unnoticed by the halfa, and she's grinning broadly.
