(no subject)

One very large green sprite + one big mess of READMEs + one notepad that's occasionally being written on + one rapidly-diminishing-in-its-contents glass of sprite intoxicant = a lot of growing frustration.

Why?

Matrix is trying to pick suitable names for his still-in-development baby daughter, that's why.

I think he needs help, a distraction, or both.

The list of names [accompanied by Matrix's own commentary on suitability, how it harmonises with the family surname, current level of overuse/underuse in cyberspace, and whether AndrAIa would like it, thus rendering any/all of his own opinions on it moot (haha!)] reads:

Chine
Alice
Avi
Cache
Eliza
Eula
Mantissa
Midi
Perl

And to make it clear just how difficult [necessarily or not] Matrix has made his task, the number of baby name READMEs is twice the number of current prospects already listed down.

Enzo scans the list, mouths 'Mantissa Matrix', and makes a face.

In Matrix's defence, he was on cruise control when he added "Mantissa" to the list. After, when he stopped to go over his list, he added quite a lot of commentary that basically agreed with Enzo's summation, only far less polite.

"And this is the best I have. So far."

"Ada and Perl sound okay with Matrix, but they're sort of boring."

"I'm convinced that half of all the girl children arriving in Mainframe over the last minute were named 'Ada' or 'Perl'—especially the newly-initiated."

Yeah. He's not too eager to name his daughter either name, but next to them are comments about how AndrAIa might have other ideas about their suitability.

...there might even be emoticons representing how he feels about Going Along With It with AndrAIa next to the commentary.

There's gotta be something more interesting out there.

"How about Yori?" he asks hopefully.

"I'm not giving my daughter a name like that, no matter how much I liked it and her when I was your age."

Honestly, it's like a human naming their son or daughter after a character from a Tolkien novel.

"Awwww."

"You sulking ain't changing my mind on that."

Because the first kid to laugh over his daughter's name might be the first kid Matrix will ever actually hit.

"How about you help me pick something a little less nerdy?"

Enzo shrugs and grabs a README to start scrolling through.

"What about Charlotte?" he says after a while. "Char Matrix sounds okay."
