She has been gone for some weeks as the days are reckoned here, to be certain, but her time has not been spent in idleness.
Far from it.
At the moment, though, she seems content enough to sit quietly with a cup of tea, watching the room and those in it.
Occasionally her stone-hard blue glance falls on a repaired patch of floor; occasionally it rests on the note that lies slowly crumbling on the table before her. At those times she seems rather less content, but it passes swiftly.
To all outward indication, that is.

Which is why she approaches Blodwen, quick, quiet, and in full view.
Her Security badge is fastened firmly to her belt.
"Hello."
no subject
Her glance flicks to the badge and back to the girl's face, and Blodwen seems to be waiting for something.

Nicknames happen to other people.
"You are Blodwen?"
no subject
A beat, and a sweet, sweet smile.
"I am, yes -- however did you know?"
She can guess, of course.
no subject
She is good at blunt.
"And you were fighting. In the bar."
Beat.
"I asked."
no subject
Very, very flatly, and from her expression she does not at all expect to be believed.
"I was defending myself."

Her expression is the kind one might have when watching a rainstorm because there's nothing else to do. Slight interest, and that's about it.
She also does nothing to hide the fact that she's staring.
no subject
The girl is watching the note; Blodwen is watching her, in turn.
no subject
And for a long moment, she's watching Blodwen, expression unchanged.
Then, she admits, "Not really."
On the scale of weird things here, the crumbling note doesn't rank that high.
no subject
She herself looks intrigued, now.
no subject
"It's taking a while," she decides.
no subject
She glances at the note, then back to the girl.
"The paper to crumble, is that it?"

The look Applegate sends Blodwen's way is appreciative, though after a second his eyes narrow and he flicks a hand in the air, as if brushing away an irritating fly. There is no fly, but it seems to have gotten rid of something that was bothering him, for his expression clears and he gives her a friendly nod.
[OOC: I can't be up to thread for too long, but I finally have a pup I'm comfortable threading with Blodwen with, so I wanted to at least get something started. :D?]

"Hello, cariad."
[OOC: totally understandable-- am falling asleep myself, so it works out well. and oh, won't this be fun!]
no subject
"Hello, my dear," he answers. "That's some lovely magic you've got there."
He likes it, very much. He is who he is, after all, and corruption is the name of his game.
no subject
"Why, and thank you," she says, lightly, and still smiling. "Such a thing it is that I do not hear often, so it is not."
no subject
Of course, if they did, it wouldn't be nearly so much fun.

He's not far away. Couple of tables, maybe. He looks ordinary enough too, in a good suit and overcoat, though he is wearing shades as well. Behind them, his eyes are just as hard and blue as hers and they don't leave her.
'Nice trick,' he says eventually, gesturing to the note in front of her.
His accent is Irish, with a touch of New York to it at times.
no subject
Odd, that.
"Why, thank you, cariad," she says, glancing down at the note. Her lips tighten, just for an instant, and then she looks back up at him with a gentle smile.
no subject
'Not bad news, I hope?'
no subject
Blodwen shrugs and pushes the paper slightly away from her.
"Still, it is done, and so."
no subject
'Or so I'm led to believe.'
