(no subject)

There is a skeleton at the Bar, clothed in a robe of Absolute Dark and accompanying by a scythe so sharp it glows blue where the very atoms of the air are being split - if it were open.

The scythe is folded shut and leans against the Bar. The robe's hood is pushed back and the shiny white cranium shines under the bar's lighting.

He's eating a curry.

"I felt it was time to seek new ventures in my life and went to serve under Captain Jack Sparrow." He's pretty sure that Death can tell he's been on the wrong side of the law. And he's sure that Death isn't going to hold it against him. And yet somehow he can't quite bring himself say "I am a pirate" as though that would mitigate his fate when or if Death comes for him.

"I suppose he did. Sometimes. It's not like our specific line of work had a salary in the conventional sense." Though if he had to add up all the loot he'd taken over the years, it probably still exceeded his navy pittance. Right up until he spent it on whores, rum, food, rum, the occasional room, and rum.

"It was. And it wasn't. That is, I quit because I was ready to move on from the navy. What I did next was..." Complicated? Nothing Gibbs does is complicated. "...was of a necessity at first and came to be preferable to other options." Like starving. Or going back to the navy.
