First Entry!

House heads to his office and opens the door.  The office, from the outside, has glass walls.  It does not show what through the door shows.  He leans his head into the door, notes what he sees, leans back and looks through the glass, notes what he sees, before popping a few more pills and limping through the door.

Perhaps he needs to cut back on the medication.

Perhaps someone should tell him where he is?


Open until he gets a new one!

He gives the guy a Look. "Is it that obvious?"

Daniel nodded.

Okay.

"Well then, the welcoming committee hits people with paper because their door is missing. Something tells me I'm missing a great deal of information along the way."

"Yeah," said Daniel, "Just about anyone that is a veteran here knows about the doors."

He nods, "So enlighten me?"

It seems only fair to understand the rules, so he doesn't look like a newbie for long.

"Oh yeah, "said Daniel, "This is the End of the Universe. The doors come and go depending on how the LANDLORD, feels."

Yeah, weak!

He looks at the guy, a little weary. He's dealt with psych patients before.

"Okay," he says, looking at the guy for anything that would cause mental issues. "I'm Dr. Greg House."

"Nice to meet you," said Daniel, "Dr. Daniel Jackson. Not a medical doctor though."

He glared at the place where his door should be for a second.

"So, would you like to take a seat, first drink is on the house," he said waiving a over a waitrat.

He nods, shuffling over, as best as his cane allows. "What sort of not medical doctor?"

He's curious. Very, very curious.

"Archaeology, Linguistics, and Ethnology," said Daniel, "You?"

"Nephrology and infectious diseases are my specialty. I run the best diagnostic medicine department in the country."

Handpicked, of course, for their...best qualities?

"Interesting," said Daniel.

The rat finally scampered over.

"Yeah, I need more coffee," said Daniel.

The zombied Muppet looked at House for an order.

He looks down at the wait rat, and back at the bar. "I'll take Scotch. The best of what you've got."

He pinches his nose, and reaches in his pocket for more Vicodin. Mmm, pills.

"So, what does one do around here?"

"Whatever you want as long as you stay in the rules," said Daniel

The rat squeaked and ran off only to return with the drinks.

"Staying within the rules," he echos. "Has never, really been something I've been good at."

He takes the glass, and a few pills before downing both.

"That doesn't look very healthy," pointed out Daniel.

He gives the other guy a Look. "I'm in pain."

It's as simple as that.

"Okay," said Daniel, "Fair enough. So, wanna hear the rules?"

He's been killed and shot so many times it's sad.

He nods, both to Daniel, and to the waitrat, hovering, for another glass.

"Sure," he says. "Tell me what I'm not supposed to do."

"No busyness, No sex, and no violence," said Daniel," There are a lot of reasons for the rules."

"How does a bar make money if there's no business?"

Reasonable enough question.

"Not that kind of busyness," said Daniel, "You see, you may see someone you recognize, but they may not be who you think they are."

He nods. That makes no sense, but okay.

"So what kind of business are we talking about?"

[diehard_daniel]

"The personal kind," said Daniel, "Around here you never know if the person you recognize is actually the person you think they are. And it also helps to keep the rule about violence."
