A purple-eyed boy is waiting at a table near the Door, suited up and date-ready. He has a pocketful of US currency, a card, two boxes, and a bouquet of roses and forget-me-nots.

Only one thing missing.

A black-haired girl strolls up, dressed in a very nice blouse and skirt ensemble, her customary hat absent. She is also wearing a light amount of makeup, and carrying a card and box of her own.

Enzo brightens.

"Hey, gorgeous."

[ami_imperfect]

"Hey yourself, good lookin'," Dani replies with a bit of a flirty grin.

[a1enzo]

Her boyfriend takes in her outfit, and flushes slightly.

It's not that he likes her better dressed up. But it's a change of pace, and a change always attracts attention to... certain things.

Like the fact that puberty in organics is very, very sneaky.

Dani giggles a little. The narration won't comment on the possibility that Jazz and Sam might have given her a few pointers before her date tonight.

The narration fears Jazz's advice as likely to be entering into the realm of psychological warfare.

Flowers! Right! He grabs them off the table and thrusts them at her.

"Thanks," she says, still giggling. She takes a moment to breathe in the bouquet's fragrance.

Once the flowers have been properly appreciated, Dani holds the card and box out to Enzo. "Happy Valentine's Day," she wishes him.

Okay, so conversation hearts as a gift are cheesy and hokey. But they're practically a Valentine's Day tradition!

Besides, this is only Enzo's second Valentine's Day. He hasn't had time for anything to be cheesy or hokey!

"Happy Valentine's Day," he tells her, offering his own card and gifts in return.

He doesn't know his card's exact origin, except that it is from some Earth or other, but it probably came from ThinkGeek:

The boxes are both fudge assortments, but one is much smaller than the other. "That's a decoy box, for your dad," Enzo explains.

"Thanks," Dani says. "You don't want to see the size of the box Mom got him for Valentine's."

Because that's how it works in the Fenton household; if Jack were the one buying Maddie chocolates, at least half of them would be gone by the time she actually got the box.

"I bet I'd get sick just thinking about it," he says dryly.

She nods. "Yeah, you would."

[a1enzo]

Enzo grins and opens his box to shake a few hearts out into his hand. BE MINE, EMAIL ME, TRUE LOVE, DIVA... HAUNT ME?

He raises an eyebrow and shows her. Looks like Necco has gotten in on the trend.

"Hmm?" Dani peers at the candy hearts, then almost doubles over as she giggles. "Oh, man...I totally didn't know they'd done that."

[a1enzo]

"Straight from 'ghosts don't exist' to 'next big thing', huh?"

He shuffles through another handful until he finds BOO, SPOOKY GIRL, and I C THRU U.

"Yup." Watching Enzo sift through the hearts, she grins.

"I might have to show these to Danny, if he hasn't seen them already."

[ooc: *g*]

"You bet."

He grins and pushes a U GIVE ME CHILLS gently between her lips.

Dani closes her lips over the candy heart, letting them linger on Enzo's fingertip for another second or two before pulling away so she could eat the candy.

The boyfriend you are looking for is temporarily incapable of coherent thought.

Please try the following:

• Check for vital signs.
• Smack him upside the head.
• Mess with his mind further by means of feminine wiles.
• Draw on him with permanent markers.

The permanent marker idea is tempting, but out of respect for her boyfriend and knowing they have a date to keep she'll refrain.

Instead Dani waves her hand in front of Enzo's face. "Yoo-hoo, Enzo..."

When that doesn't appear to work, Dani chooses option two: smack him upside the head.

"Ah!"

"So, ready to go?" Dani asks sweetly, as if nothing had happened.

[a1enzo]

"Uh... yeah! Sure!"

He wonders if they can skip the dinner and movie part.

[ami_imperfect]

If they do, they'll have at least a set of ticked off parents and one pissed off, over-protective older brother to deal with.

Dani smiles, gesturing to the door. "After you."

Bah, logic and consequences have no place where hormones are concerned.

He grins and half-bows. "As you wish."

Man, he loves this holiday.
