When The Front Door opens, surprise is too limited an emotion to explain Marian's expression. She comes through it, closing the door fast, and walking only slowly enough to be almost-formal.

To get outside the door, the bar, to get to the sunshine, the open space. Away from her bonds and bondage and both of them.

She doesn't think about people being on the other side of the back door as she thrust it open. Oops?

Kate pinched her nose where a thin line of red was emerging. Slight nosebleed out of the deal.

"Hang on," she commented in a nasal tone. "Need stob da bleeding"

Once the bleeding has stopped, she let go of her nose.

Kate then replied, "You said that already, and yes you should have. But it wasn't worse. How have you been?"

"That's good, me too. Well, except for the door," Small smile there.

"Been staying around here and healing from a battle back home. But it went well."

Kate sighed, wondering how to explain, "It's complicated. More than even it was during the Civil War and Registration Act mess. But we're taking action about it."
