(no subject)

It's been about a week for Cal since he was last here, which is the second-longest period of time he's gone without finding a Door since he moved to his new world. He's been okay with that, though - after the conversations he had during that bartending session, he needed the breather.

He's glad enough to take this Door when he finds it, though, and is soon at a table with his usual raktajino.

When I said five minutes ago that you can't fool me on this, you do realise that that still applies now, right? I'm not an idiot, Cal.

Here comes the urge to respond with 'oh, whatever' again, and Sam's expression flattens out, going from tiredness to a deceptive neutrality.

(I give the fuck up.)

Mildly, simply, "Okay."

And Sam had been willing to give up, at least for the moment, so Cal's continued insistence on what Sam knows is not true, especially after what he'd just said, is quite possibly the best way to make him want to grab the argument all over again. Or possibly just to shake Cal. ('Both', too, remains a possibility.)

"Mmm." Nonetheless, he raises his face up to the kiss. "Yeah, sure."

His features are still expressionless as Cal leaves, and stay so for the ten, perhaps fifteen minutes that he remains where Cal left him on the sofa. When he does move, nobody sees it; and the next perceptible sign of his presence in Milliways is a few moments later, when in the darkness outside there's a sudden, snapped explosion of "oh, for fuck's sake!", accompanied by a less metaphorical explosion as several demon bunnies burst into orange flames.

...Yes, that conversation went well.
