Nathaniel flops down on the still-warm rock beside her, purring softly.

Happy kitten is happy.

Liz curls into the purring Kitten. He's comfy and warm and family.

"You sound happy," she murmurs softly, smile clear in her voice.

He nuzzles her cheek.

"I'm very happy," he replies. "It's been a long time since I've been so happy."

Nathaniel is rather reluctant to not be happy.

"And what is making you so happy?"

Curious, not that he has to have a reason, but if it's something specific maybe she can help keep it up.

She likes him happy.

Nathaniel smiles.

"Everyone around me is pretty content. Asher pampers me, Anita's slowly coming round to everything, and Damian plays with me. Then, of course, there is laying on a warm rock on a spring night with pard," he purrs.

Liz's purr settles low in her throat, content and lazy.

"Life is good for all of us at the moment. I'm glad we're all happy, that we all have time to do what we like and want and that you get pampered. You deserve it all."

His pale cheeks flush pink.

"Does anyone deserve what they get in their lives?" Nathaniel shrugs. "I got lucky. A master who loves me, a mistress who cares even if she doesn't understand, and friends who look after me. For all I know, I'll lose it all tomorrow, so I'll bask in it today."

There's a soft nip to the shoulder she's resting on.

"You won't lose it all tomorrow. You're stuck with all of us for the rest of your life." Her voice holds no room for argument, even with the edge of soft because he's Pard.

"At the rate Anita goes, that could be drastically short," he points out with a chuckle.

"Won't let it be drastically short, Kitten." The who in that sentence is ambiguous, but she's willing to bet there are a lot of who's that would make that statement true for Nathaniel.

Nathaniel kisses her softly, purring again.

"I'm protected."

It is an amazing feeling... the feeling of safety.

"You really, really are."

Her purr strengthens softly as she snuggles more into him.

She wants him to feel safe. He should, even with all the crap they seem to go through.

"And you?" he asks. "How are you?"

"I'm good. Nice night, nice company, and everything seems calm at the moment, which is nice."

In their world it always seems like the calm before the storm most times, but there's no reason to not enjoy it.

"I'm glad winter is over," Nathaniel murmurs. "It's nice enough, but I like spring and summer best." He grins. "I'll be twenty-one soon."

She gives a soft purred hum, "Too cold, what with the snow and the being naked to shift..." Or the just being naked in general really.

She grins softly, "I say we need a birthday party of sorts, celebrate you turning twenty-one."

Nathaniel grins.

"A party?"

"Well every birthday should be celebrated that way, no? Especially big mile markers like becoming twenty-one."

She nods sagely.

Scottish spring evenings are chilly.

Luckily, Elizabeth won't have to worry about it. She has an ever-ready source of radiant heat stretching out on the rock beside her.

One that she readily rolls against, one jean-clad leg settling over his and her head settling on his shoulder.

Not'Cat is comfy!

Despite being rather angular, he does make a good pillow. And he quite likes being a pillow, sometimes.

This is one of those times. Warm arms are wrapped around her, resting against her back.

She can find a comfortable spot on anything rather angular or bony. It's a cat thing, really. And it's nice right now.

She gives a soft hum at the warmth, a low purr starting up in her throat. This is ever a nice way to spend the night.

Her purr is answered with one of his own.

"Hey you," he says, quietly, comfortably.

She snuggles a little more solidly against him.

"Hi," she murmurs softly, lazily like a cat that's been napping.
