Entrance Post.
There is nothing particularly unordinary about the young woman who walks into the bar.
(Unless you consider an ankle holster, a set of throwing knives, and a few other deadly and injury-causing weapons strapped to her person out-of-the-ordinary.)
What feels strange to her, though, isn't all that. The weapons? They're just like a second skin - but not quite. Not really. This face of hers is the new part, and it's going to take some time before she can learn to recognize herself in the mirror.
Now, of course, the question becomes: where the hell is she?

Now, if she can find out why she's standing in a bar instead of CONTROL headquarters, that would make it easier for everyone involved.
(She'd really hate to have to question.)

It helps with the illusion.
"Maybe that's because I've never been here before," she answers sweetly.
no subject
"Ah. Then you don't know you're in Milliways?" He makes a concerned face. He hates having to explain the place.
no subject
(Besides the obvious security reasons, of course.)
"Milliways. That's what it's called?"
The name isn't ringing any bells.
no subject
"We're outside time. Or at the end of it. It's hard to explain." Pause. "No, it's probably impossible to explain."
no subject
She's not going to bother to hide the skepticism. That's real enough.
She has just come back to work. Maybe this is some kind of field test CONTROL's putting her through. If it is, she thinks, she'll pass with flying colors. No problem.
"It sounds complicated," she admits, brushing her hair back over one shoulder.
no subject
"This must sound insane. I apologize for that. But it's the truth."
no subject
"Maybe it doesn't sound that insane."
She smiles again, briefly.

Her brows knit together.
"Have you?"
no subject
"And I suspect you don't believe me."

The sounds coming from the dog wagging his tail at her. From his collar, if we're being specific.
no subject
"Um."
no subject
"I'm Damocles! Wanna play?"
no subject
There is the possibility that someone miked the dog. It's the most logical possibility, at least.
"Right."
no subject
"Is that a yes?" He tilts his head at her.
no subject
Not a smart idea.
"Do you belong to somebody, um, Damocles?"
no subject

Her gaze lifts from the dog's expectant face to the surrounding bar.

A split second later, a tall, muscular man is working his way towards them, not looking pleased at all.
"Uhoh."
no subject
"I'm guessing he's yours."
no subject
The glare fades when the man looks up, but he still doesn't look particularly friendly. "I'm sorry he bothered you."
"Wasn't bothering her."
Quiet.
no subject
"I just - it's not every day you meet a talking dog."
The words sound more and more ridiculous as they come out.
