The door simply opens and shuts, letting a young woman, primly dressed, enter. The business jacket and modest skirt are both navy blue, with a school crest blazoned on the lapel. Her hair is pulled back into a neat twist- but no, no glasses. The lady can see well enough without any such thing, thank you.
Under one arm is a book. Gilt-topped pages, bound in blind-stamped morocco, that exudes the aura of rare first edition. Old and well-kept, but it's not hers.
As Athena glances around the bar, the person said book belongs to, from whom she borrowed it quite a few years ago, is nowhere to be seen. Well, that should have been expected.
With an exceedingly faint shrug, she starts over toward the bar.
(New mun with a char that's been played here before- but I am starting her over with a fresh slate. Thank you!)
(And, the mun is off for sleep. Post is open for tags for the next couple of days for slowtimes!)

When the rather beautiful young woman enters he nods to her from his seat where he's shuffling cards.

Aha. Athena raises an eyebrow, and carefully returns the nod.

His smile is open and sincere, because she seems like someone who will know things.

"And how are you doing on this day?"

With a quick motion, he tucks the deck of cards into his suit.

She sets the glass down on the table, but as of yet, makes no move to take a seat herself.

Which Moist finds strange, he's not sure how to really blend in here.

And the angle of light is wrong to try to catch them, at least at the moment.

"Excuse me," the albino speaks up with a slight smile, not shy in the least. "What book is that?"

Even if the book had been rebound; it's a nice binding.
"I'd be curious to see if there are any major discrepancies between the earlier printings and the later. They always change things; details are forgotten, or are altered to make a better story."

Athena rests her hand on the front cover, before setting the book on the bar. "I borrowed years ago from another patron. Quite some time, I know, but previous items lent back and forth were often gone for longer."

She's really concentrating on that rich taste.

Because she understands all too well wanting to go somewhere to get away from Family.

"Well, this is unexpected."
no subject
"Unexpected in what way, exactly?"
no subject
"Didn't think you were the bar-at-the-end-of-the-universe type, that's all."

"This place has its benefits. Drawbacks as well, but they fade from the mind more easily with time."

girlwoman with her hair braided tightly back--then a second, longer look is given to the book in her hands.Helen curls her right hand around her coffee pot (her left still left at her side).
"What book is that?" she asks, when the woman is close enough to speak to.
no subject
"We tend to lend things back and forth, but it was high time I returned this."

"However, there were more pressing concerns to deal with, before I could take the notes I wished, and thus return the book." Athena turns back to Helen.
"Thankfully, we've never set any particular deadlines for when items need to be returned."
