"No, see--" Duo waves his spoon at River for emphasis, and then hastily lowers it before ice cream drips onto the couch. "Real cherries are acceptable. Maraschino cherries are an abomination. It's an important distinction!"

River eats a sprinkle with her fingers, looking dubious. "It's a paradigmatic rewriting," she informs him. "Got extra sugar."

So, to sum up: River and Duo have a couch shared between them, a fairly epic ice cream sundae apiece, and a lot of precisely constructed paper airplanes strewn around them. (Some have physics equations written on them.) Come say hi!

[OOC: Two muns, two characters! Feel free to tag them together, or to arrange your timing so one of them just went back to the bar or something.]

River makes yet another face at the idea of skittles and vodka.

(River may not have ever had skittles, and she's definitely never had vodka. But it's the principle of the thing!)

"There's hot fudge," she advises Jo, earnestly.

Duo rifles through his pockets and finds a piece of paper and the stub of a pencil. "Okay, I'm taking orders, then. River, you want more of the same? How about you?" He glances up at Jo.

"Cherries, check. Vanilla? Chocolate? Rocky Road? Fill a guy in, here."

"All of the above."

Beat. "Tell her to make it a chocolate overload."

Because if one was celebration a whole lot of nothing,
One should do that with a good deal of style.

"Fruit," says River hopefully, and unspecifically.

Duo salutes. "Yes ma'am."

It's okay, he can guess when it comes to what River wants. He meanders over to the bar and starts what appear to be intense negotiations.

Jo upended her beer.

To work on making it vanish pre-ice cream.

Sadly, it does involve pausing to breathe. "He's nice."

River beams at her.

Okay, sometimes Jo has taste, she will apparently concede.

"He's a brat," she informs her, which is apparently compliment rather than correction.

Jo snorted, her beer stopped before her mouth.

Only long enough for "So 're you." before she finished it.

River looks ~~smug~~ serene.

And fails to deny it.

"Quite a brat."

Jo shook her head, grinning, at River's expression.
Then dropped into a seat, setting the bottle on a table.

"Everything's good?" At least good enough. Not burning.

"Everybody's okay."

To River, that means the same thing. These words are a little softer, a little more serious.

Only a little, though, because she's still in a sundae-and-friends-induced good mood.

"The physics are cooperative," she adds, which may or may not be in reference to all those paper airplanes scattered about the coffee table. Confidentially: "Duo's wrong."

This might be slander, if it weren't basically a continuation of the ongoing bickering.

"I am not!" Duo posits from behind them, loaded down with ice cream. "Just because yours went farther that one time. Must've been air currents or something."

The one he sets down in front of Jo does indeed seem to be composed mainly of chocolate. It's even got a chocolate covered cherry. River's is the overwhelming pink of strawberries.

"My hero." Is flippant, but bright.
It's a relief to have something so easy.

And chocolate ice cream with cherries and laughter counts.

You'll have to give Jo a pass. Her face may mean she's having a moment with her multiple layers of chocolate.

River allows her this moment, by informing Duo, "It's correction for the variables." Smugly! (This assertion may or may not be accurate.)

A little of the smugness is subtracted by how she's going :D! at the sundae as she accepts it with both hands and a certain degree of care.

If there's one thing Duo is good at, it's being easy!

...uh, that came out wrong. Ahem.

But he is very good at putting people at ease, on purpose or with his general air of mischief.

Duo's expression shows exactly what he thinks of River's variables.
