Duck is so happy to be person-shaped Duck again! SO HAPPY! Super happy.
So happy that she is not even going to worry about her assignment that is due tomorrow, or the fact that Lilie keeps squeaking things about all the points of resemblance between Duck and a turtle.
So happy that she is completely not watching where she is going, as she bounces towards the bar for an afternoon snack.
- hey, how did that table get there?

Then she steps up again. "If you hurt yourself you won't be able to practice," she warns, mildly.

Duck attempts to clamber to her feet, flails her legs mostly under her, almost falls over again, grabs the chair, wobbles, grabs the table, and beams at Rue, mostly in that order.f
"Uh, yeah, I fall all the time though, so . . . I think I'm okay, but . . . it's nice of you to be worried though!"

"'cause, you know, he's always yelling at us for being loud and distracting the advanced class . . . but if he's the one who's really distracting you, then - well, you know, it's funny!"
'Irony' is a word that Duck has not yet learned.

At the noise of the clatter in Duck's area, Cepheus makes some fuss and Mia picks him up to calm him down again.
"Oh, hello Duck," she greets with a smile.
no subject
Duck wobbles dangerously, but (fortunately for all concerned) manages not to crash into Cepheus' pram.
"And hi Cepheus!"
no subject
"How are you doing? And any particular reason why you were in a rush?"
Or was Duck simply being her wonderfully energetic self?
no subject
Duck tugs on her braid, shifting from foot to foot, trying to think. Was there a reason she was running, other than that it's fun to go fast? Ummm . . .
"Well, I guess I was hungry! So I was gonna go get something to eat!"
MYSTERY SOLVED.
no subject
"That's one of the best reasons to come to the restaurant at the end of the universe, isn't it? And I know Draco and I have been eating here more often now that Cepheus keeps us so busy. Making dinner at home is fun, but it's nice to have more time to relax."
Cepheus grasps onto Mia's clothes and snuggles himself closer to his Mama.

One of them is that on this particular afternoon, in this particular moment, there is a soft wshh of air, and Duck is plucked lightly out of the path of the imminent table before she can trip over it.
"Really, mistress." Puck sounds halfway between perplexity and laughter. "I cannot fathom you a grize."
no subject
That was pretty unexpected! Although it really shouldn't be, considering - people are always plucking Duck out of midair.
(She's kinda glad Lilie's not there to shout stuff about three-timing.)
"- uh, you didn't hurt your ankle doing that, did you?"
no subject
Puck blinks wide blue eyes (though they are nowhere near as wide as Duck's) and glances down to his feet. Both appear to be in perfect working order.
"I am quite well, I thank you," he replies. "And you?"
no subject
"I mean I guess I fell over a lot earlier but, you know, I do that all the time so it's kinda normal, hahahahah! I'm glad you didn't twist your ankle though, that's what happened when Mytho caught me! But Miss Paulamoni didn't hurt herself 'cause she's really tall, I think."
no subject
"Yes, well," he says, "that is as it may be."
(He thinks he heard all the words in the proper order. He thinks so.)
"Do you not make use of your eyes, mistress?"

"Uh -"
It's a good thing his food and drink remain in tact for the most part. (The burger might have shifted across his plate a bit, but whatever.)
Belatedly: "Watch where you're going?"
no subject
- and then forwards.
And then backwards. It's a bit like a bobblehead doll, until she manages to center her balance.
"Sorry sorry I'm always so clumsy - uh, did I knock anything over?"
no subject
Cocking his head, Nico scrutinizes the reeeeally weird girl. He could easily choose to go back to eating and let her go on her way, but ...
He's going to try this socializing thing.
It could be good for him.
"Are you in a hurry or something?"
no subject
Duck never walks when she can run - not unless she's deliberately dawdling. Why get somewhere slow when you could get there fast?
(Also, there's the fact that Drosselmeyer seems to have seen fit to give her approximately twice the energy appropriate for her frame.)
"I mean I guess I was just kinda hungry . . . but now I'm not, which is kinda weird! I mean not weird weird, it's one of those things that happens I guess, like you're really hungry and then you're kinda not 'cause you forgot you were, you know?"
no subject
"I guess."
Actually, Nico isn't sure he gets it at all. Like - what?
"My stomach usually doesn't forget. Well, unless I'm being attacked by something."
That tends to make people forget their hunger!

"Duck!"
no subject
Duck dives to the floor, scrambling after the fallen toys.
"Um was it just the hat and the - what's that?"
They don't have guns in Gold Crown Town.
no subject
He's still standing up from the table holding his dinner and his glass of juice, by the way.
no subject
Duck picks it up by the wrong end and squints at it. "Maybe someone left you a present!"
no subject
"Err...maybe!" Yoink! "I don't wanna mess around too much with the gun, since I don't know what it does."
