[OOM: She wants to see you.]
It can be hard to judge by appearances, if all you can see is the surface.
Ever bitten into a chocolate only to find that cherry center is actually pure cayenne pepper?
Well, if the blonde with teased-to-here hair and the unbuttoned-to-there neckline and is a bimbo of a chocolate . . . there's a ruthless, cunning, evil bitch of a demon as the center.
So there's a woman in the bar tonight, in a red dress and cowboy boots, with a belt with silver and turquoise buckles, and a hell of a lot of cleavage.
She's been here a while, watching people come and go though brown eyes, drinking beer out of longneck bottles.
And waiting.

There might be witches and werewolves and other things in Milliways, but he's good at what he does.

He gets a smile.
A very . . . come hither sort of smile.

"Can I get you another drink?"
no subject
(This is an outfit she picked up in Oklahoma.)
"Sure."
no subject
He loosens his tie as he leans towards her.
no subject
Really, now. Does she?
no subject
Or with him is what his smile promises.

She pushes her blonde hair back behind one ear.
"What's your story?"

She looks ... pleased.
And hey. There's a pretty girl who looks like she could use some company.
"Trying out a new look?"
no subject
"She told me to change.
"So I wore this ridiculous thing for you.
"Hello, darling."
no subject
It's not like the alcohol affects her, but it's something to do.
"It's nice," she sweetly replies. "Different."
She doesn't say that it also doesn't make her look half as badass as she usually is.
"She talked to you?"
no subject
"I had to walk away from a particularly ripe for the plucking little wannabe stock market wizard.
"So there any news worth blowing that deal and having to dress like I just want to be Miss Oklahoma?"
no subject
She leans forward just a smidgeon. It wouldn't do for any loose ears to get in on their conversation, then report back to a certain Somebody.
(It doesn't take a genius to guess that Sam's probably got a bunch of friends here. He seems like the type. Amiable guy and all.)
(Not that she's going to be dropping any names, of course.)
"We talked," she continues. "I told him a couple of things and he believed me. Of course, why wouldn't he? It's not like I was lying."
no subject
Just two pretty blondes, having a drink in each other's company, right?
"Hook, line, and sinker?"
no subject
There's a slow, lazy smile.
"Oh, yeah."
Yep, she looks real pleased about that.
"We even swapped numbers and everything."
no subject
"Either of you made the booty call yet?"
What?
She's evil, not blind.
Sam is . . . well, just dishy.

"If that's what gets off, darlin', you knock yourself out."

She and her aspirin-laced cocoa regard her with placid attention from a nearby chair, but don't make any move to come closer.
Even dead, she likes to keep her survival skills sharp.

She learned that term from Andrew.
"Sorry, were you hoping for something like: Oh my God, you're even wearing red, you're like as subtle as a Bat Signal?"
no subject
"And I'd apologize for that, but I wouldn't mean it, so what would be the point?"
no subject
Unfortunately, believing demons when they say things is a proven bad idea.
"Well, if you did, I might not have to cry myself to sleep tonight."
She takes a sip of her cocoa.
Benignly.
no subject
You lost.
You're dead.
You're irrelevant.
Verity really doesn't care about you.
"I'll pass anyway."
