For the past couple of weeks, Bob has been making quick forays into Milliways on a regular basis, just long enough to confirm that a certain someone isn't downstairs yet.

Today, he's decided to stick around a little longer. It's been a busy cycle back home--three Games in a row--and he could use some downtime.

He's not exactly happy about being here, though. He may never be happy about being here again.

Enzo has, perversely, been spending as much time here as he can without throwing his internal system clock off completely. He's here now, at the Bar, staring around the room with a stubborn expression.

Not stubborn about anything particular. Just generally stubborn.

"Enzo, what are you doing here?"

Defiantly: "Having a soda."

"Besides that. Dot told you what happened, didn't she?"

"Yes."

"So, I repeat: What are you doing here?"

"Not letting him ruin it!"

"How?!" Bob almost shouts. "Enzo, what exactly do you expect to do?"

"What I always do!" Enzo very nearly shouts back. "I know I can't get rid of him, but he's not getting rid of me either!"

Bob quirks an eyebrow. "You don't sound like you're enjoying yourself any more than I am."

Enzo's voice drops to a sullen mumble. "I'm fine."

"Enzo..."

Enzo sighs. "Look, I'm feeling better than I was, okay? I'm fine."

"Y'happen t'know which room Megabyte's in?" Mouse asks from somewhere over Bob's right shoulder.

Bob glances over at her.

"...and just what were you planning to do with that shotgun?"

"Guess."

"Mouse, no."

"I know, I know, I'm gonnna get in trouble," Mouse says, as if she's talking about the prospect of getting caught playing a prank rather than being hauled off for murder. "But I thought about it, y'see. For a good long while."

"No violence," says Bob firmly. "And no old grudges. We can't do anything to him here unless he does something first."

"The cells they got in the Security office are lots nicer'n most of the lock-ups I've spent time in," Mouse continues, as if Bob hadn't spoken at all. "Pretty cozy, in fact. Maybe once they put me in there I'll fin'lly be able t'get some sleep." (Her flippantly cheerful tone of voice gets just a little strained towards the end.)

"Mouse, you're talking about shooting somebody in his bed! When he's so injured he can barely even stand up!"

"Maybe ya missed the system alert, Bob, but the nanosecond Megabyte c'n stand up is gonna be the nanosecond that he goes after our bitmaps," Mouse growls. "An' not just ours. Mairi an' Ana's too. 'Sides which, that jerk never fights fair - why should we?"

"Because we're better than that, spammit," Bob snaps back. "At least I thought we were."

"Better than Megabyte doesn't have t'mean bein' dumb enough t'let him trash Mainframe again," Mouse points out. She sighs. "Look, Sugar. Y'don't even have'ta tell me which room he's in. I got a detector. You just pretend we never had this conversation, I'll go an' get it over with, an' everyone gets saved a lotta headaches. 'Cept me, maybe, but I'm fine with takin' one fer the team. Got my affairs in order an' everything."
