As soon as Bartleby enters the door, Lochiel's distress hits him in waves, and he is almost at the stairs before he realises that the poor guy's asleep. He can check that he's okay when he wakes up.
He retreats to a chair by the fire. He'd never tell you, but he's a little worried about Co- Fenrir. Only a little. And now a lot worried about Lochiel. And lots of fun background angst in his head. Distracting him from all this is a brilliant plan.

Well, there's only one thing to do in a case such as this.
Pounce.
This is very easy to do when you're six inches shorter than your boyfriend.

He strokes Bartleby's face with both palms. "And you? How are you doing? Look a little peaky yourself." He sets himself about kissing Bartleby better.

The truth is mostly what he's been thinking of doing when he saw Bartleby again involved being naked and horizontal--but, he reminds himself, taking. it. slow.

"And the old man's been bothering Liam's wife at her work so Liam will talk to him, so Liam is sending Karen and Megan to stay with her parents for a while. But I gave him the notebook of all my latest songs so I think he'll have an easier time remembering me--and he thinks Megan remembers me just fine, because she drew a picture of me with green hair.
"And I got to play with a mariachi guitarist last night, and I liked that.
"Kiss now." He turns his face up.

"B . . . do you feel you need my forgiveness for things you did before we met? Because you have it. If you need it. Which I don't think you do, but there it is anyway."

His thumbs absently stroke Bartleby's shirt.
"Well, I didn't think you needed it, anyway. Just something else Richard said. That I've forgiven you for what you've done and he's forgiven Armand for what he's done . . . and it got me thinking. So." He smiles and scoots up on Bartleby's lap a little. "But no matter. You're right."

Reminds me a bit of my 4'11 friend who married a man who was 6'4. It works. Just takes some adjusting.]
