It has been awfully quiet on the Artifact front lately. Claudia is trying not to worry about that too much, but she can't shake this feeling that when something finally does happen, it's gonna be a doozy.
(So is it Pete's vibes or Artie's paranoia that's rubbing off?)
In an effort not to think about things too hard, she's claimed a table in the name of Legos and soda. At some point, she might get a sandwich to go with that.

William's decided to read the books from Urquhart and enjoy the fact that he found Milliways.

At one point he notices Claudia, the legos are strange toys and finally gets up and walks over,

"What makes those blocks so bright?"

Claudia shrugs. "Probably some kind of coloring agent they put in the plastic, if not the plastic itself."

"Oh, nice looking things. Just never seen anything like them before,"

Its nice how they stay together too.

"You don't know Legos?"
And then she actually takes a closer look at the kid and his... really authentic cowboy getup. And here there's no reason to just write it off as a costume. "...Guess you wouldn't know Legos."

"That's what they're called, odd name,"

His book is set down, but he doesn't pick one up though he kind of wants to.

"Scandinavian, I think. Don't know where beyond that, though. Pick some up if you want, I have plenty."
And she's not building a mock-up, so they're there to spare.

He does, they're really shiny and smooth,

"Thanks. I'm William."

"Claudia. Good to meetcha."
She sticks a few Legos together, and sort of falls into building a house by default. When in doubt, it seems to do the trick.

"Didn't mean to bother you, just trying to get used to this place,"

He starts making a little tower and then soon creates a fence.

"Oh, you're new? Cool. Welcome to Milliways, then. And you're totally not a bother."
In fact, having someone around to talk to might help her not think about the odds of a storm coming at home. (Or, well, maybe not a storm so much as Artifactness.)

"Thanks and yeah, this is my second visit. Can actually make stuff with these and it doesn't fall over."

"Part of the fun. And then if you change your mind and want to build something else, you can take 'em apart."

"Also they're solid. Think it would have taken a lot for me and Mark to break these. Though Pa would have complained about them getting caught in his bad leg."

Claudia nods. "They can get... really stuck together, sometimes. Or stuck in places you don't want 'em. But they're better than a lot of things for quick building."

"Yeah, I can see that,"

Its an odd image, colorful things on the bottom of his Pa's wooden leg.
