There was a huge serious reason that King never let himself be tied down in any sort of relationship and the woman he had just met was why. Words couldn't describe how she irked him! Okay so she wasn't quite on the same level as Danica was, but that was beside the point and one he'd be willing to argue! After they had parted ways Hannibal had set himself back to trying to sort through the paperwork that Lam had helped him drop on the floor. Smart people didn't just stand in doorways. It was like pushing on a door that read pull. Hannibal was just thankful that he wasn't under her care as far as the doctoring thing went.
Do no harm his rear! How many times had she ended up hitting him with something? Light help him the woman was mean. Yet he couldn't stop himself from thinking about her.
Grumbling under his breath the Hunter tried to get back to sorting through all the documentation that he'd managed to sneak away from Sommerfield's desk for Arcade. Just from the fact that she was going to see corners bent on the paper that she hadn't done herself was going to get his rear handed to him. If she ever found out that was- but, knowing his luck, all the blame was going to be placed on his head anyway. "Bar, sweetie, are you sure there's no way you can help me not get in trouble when I go back to the hideout?" His only response was a piece of paper with a ':P' face on it.
Yep. King was doomed and he blamed it all on Doctor Carolyn Lam.

Then again, there could be a face he recognized, too. That made for a change.

Anything was possible in Milliways.
"Bar. Seriously. Throw me a bone here? Or do you just like to see me have my backside handed to me on various occasions?" Looking at the stacks of paper infront of him, Hannibal sighed as he saw one of the stacks vanish then reappear with the same little note with the same little face on it. She did like seeing him get beat up! "Now while I do appreciate a little roughness in my life, this is uncalled for."

Setting the paperwork down with a sigh the Hunter scrubbed at the back of his neck. "Was coming in with all this stuff to pass on to you that Sommerfield had gathered when this... thing of a person decided to stand in the door." Was thing even proper? Hannibal wasn't sure even how to start describing Lam!
"She calls herself a doctor, but I've never seen a doctor that vexing before or like to hit someone so much." As he talked his hands moved not really flailing about but close to it. The woman irked him. "Didn't even offer to help pick them up before she started going off on me. She's worse than Blade and that's saying something."

"That being said, I don't recall you mentioning anybody named Blade before. Assuming that's a person and not an organization of some kind."

Kate's not having such a good night herself. Guppy's sure she's come down with this 'hallucinogenic flu' that's been going around, and while she spent most of the morning and afternoon in pigtails, she's let them down tonight. She's nursing a dirty martini and wearing something ... well, something the cowgirl would never wear otherwise.
[ooc: Do you mind a slightly risqué case of the IMDb Flu tagging you, a la Scarlett from The Badge?]

"If you call having a blind scientist about to kick my arse then, yes, bad ni-" Whatever Hannibal was going to say was cut off as he looked away from the papers in his hand towards the woman who had spoken to him. Well hello, nurse! Sure she might have been a little older than the women that he generally flirted with, but was that honestly going to stop him now? Nope. No it wasn't.
Hannibal put on his best grin as he shifted the papers in his hands a little. "New 'friend' decided that I didn't exactly need to keep all these in order or else I had to much time on my hands. Needless to say Bar is finding it all amusing."

"New friend, huh?"
She looks a little older than she actually is, especially with this fever, but she has the body of a woman in her prime.
"I don't think getting your ass kicked by a blind scientist is something you want to go around telling people about," she says with a wink.

At the new friend comment he simply rolled his shoulders, giving one heavy sigh as he did so. "As much a friend as an ingrown toenail is. Apparently it's all the rage for people to stand in doorways now."
Maybe that's it, but it's not going to stop Hannibal from trying to make at least one good impression this evening with the lovely lady. Having a moment to get Carolyn off his mind was going to be more than a little welcomed until his little problem with the papers was fixed. "I don't think I've seen you around here before. Name's Hannibal King though most people just call me King."

She takes a sip from her martini, quirking her head to the side at the comment about doorways. Obviously that's a story for later.
"Scarlett," she chuckles, leaning forward to shake his hand. "I don't think I've seen you, either. But most of the time I'm not really looking."
