Barbie in the Main Bar
Barbie's taken over a corner booth today. She has several scripts (Sleeping Beauty, The Snow Queen, The Princess and the Pauper, The Firebird and Giselle) which she seems to be reading half heartedly if the half drunk Cosmopolitan and wet tissue she keeps dabbing her eyes with are any indication. Maybe it's a bit early to be drinking here but it's totally afternoon somewhere.
Perhaps a distraction is in order?

Right now she was writing up a lesson plan, mostly of lists as well as 'scripts' that the two of them could work on.
That was until she eyes the woman with a bunch of 'familiar' titles, but for the most part it's the cocktail and tissues at her side that gets her attention.
"If you want to get drunk, I could give you a whole lot of drinks that would do the job faster." Sonya wasn't a big fan of drinking herself-unless she was with the guys-but if the girl was going to try she may as well try it proper.

[OOC-FYI, I'll be slow until tomorrow.]

She looked over the scripts. "Reading up on ballet?"
Yes, Sonya recognized some ballet titles: she spent sometime in West Germany, ballet was pretty big there.

[OOC-SO sorry for flaking so long. If it's been too long feel free to ignore this and we can hand wave introductions for future threads.]

"I thought I was a workaholic." She supposed the emphasis should be on 'was'. Even with the teaching gig, it's all she can do to keep occupied.
She looked at the script. She'd read 'The Prince and the Pauper', but maybe this was a 'new look' at the story.
"I don't watch a lot of movies-never really had the time." And after her own experiences, she could never really watch a full movie without sneering or wanting to throw something: romances brought up painful memories, her life was already an action movie..and then fantasy was a little too close to home.
She did enjoy the occasional cheesy science fiction/fantasy movie-but that was her own guilty pleasure.

Honestly, she wanted to sympathize with the woman, she really did: breaking up wasn't easy, but she still couldn't bring herself to feel that way. Her own fiance had been KIA several years ago. Then there was last time she experienced a break up was of her own accord: when she was seventeen in the military academy and the relationship had become toxic-the only tears she spent over that was of the 'time' she lost.
The best she could understand was that work was a 'safegaurd'.
"If it didn't work out, it didn't work out." She finally responded. "You know yourself better than anyone."
For Sonya, the key moment came back when she was given KP duty for some offence-when suddenly spending several hours peeling potatos and mixing powdered eggs became more enjoyable than spending time with her boyfriend, it was time to call it quits.
