Perhaps it should not be too surprising, the number of people who come to Milliways to get work done. There is a long tradition of abusing the time difference between here and home, where ever home may be.
This may be why Athena is currently at a quiet table, cup of black coffee at hand, as well as a laptop and stack of (hard copy) files. The laptop, however, is set to the side in favor of going through the stack of papers. (And while she technically is not grading anything, there is more than likely a red pen near at hand to slash through one thing or another that needs editing.)
Both the laptop and file folders have 'LAPD' discreetly emblazoned on them. The woman working on them, dressed in a pale grey suit and lightweight sweater, looks more like a consultant than a police officer.
((Mun going to bed, but post is open 'til it scrolls.))

Kali pauses on her way to the bar, her head tilted in interest.

One moment more, and Athena nods, giving her a faint smile. "Good evening."

"It's been a while since I've made it a habit of coming to Milliways. Unfortunately, that means I often miss out on meeting people here."

She slides into the seat with a nod of thanks.
"I'm Kali." Courtesy, again, to offer her own name first.
no subject
"My name is Athena." A hand is offered across the table.
"Though I go by Camille Ergane to most people here."
Kali would not be 'most', however.

"At home as well, or only here?" she asks.
no subject
"Both. Perhaps even more so here." She smiles wryly. "Back home, most would think it to only be an unique name, if I were to use it. Here-"
The smile turns humorless, but remains.
"Here, they are more likely to believe. And currently, I do not want to deal with such matters."

Kali tilts her head; her tone is still polite, but there's perhaps a touch of something else in it.

Athena's voice hardens by a faint degree. "And even though there may be 'No Business' in the bar, I'd have little patience for someone who would think to blame me for any mis-doings, real or imagined, by some would-be Power with the same name."

"Now, I tend not to- to not advertise, if you will- to most of the patrons here. Particularly since my best work is done behind the scenes." Athena manages a smile, but it is sincere.
"A teacher doesn't need to be worshiped, to get her job done."

If she sounds less than thrilled about this ... well, that's accurate enough.

He spots her soon enough, and he's thinking a good deal before coming to her table, though not without a proper offering of more black coffee and a bagel.

"And good evening to you, Tyler. How have things been for you?"

And did his world as well?

"Howso?"

With a quick nod, she takes the note books, and carefully stacks her own files on top of the (closed) laptop.
"And do order yourself something if you'd like, while I read through these..."

Athena thankfully has her second cup of black coffee, and she sips that slowly as she reads through Tyler's notebooks.

Don't answer that.
He's just going to be making a funny face before trying to suck the snails out of their shells.

But after studying the boy for one bried moment, she goes back to reading.
