No one seems to be in the infirmary but Watson was able to find a chair with a good view of the door and has ordered some tea.

Currently he's not sure if he trusts any medicine he might order from the strange counter or a rat so he will simply wait and approach the next person who enters the infirmary.

He keeps reaching up for where his mustache should be and occasionally wiping his forehead as his fever has not abated. Since he is rather hot, he has gone so far has to remove his tweed jacket while he waits.

Moist von Lipwig, reaching into his face as if he were missing -- a lipwig?

Lady Margolotta smiles at him as she comes in today.

He bows to her, his suit is of a more conservative cut than even Moist would wear unless the job was quite profitable,

"Good day, ma'am. I do hope I'm not blocking your way."

[margolotta]

"No, you're not, my dear," Margolotta says, smiling kindly. "I could step around you if you were."

Or push him aside.

Very odd of him to react like that.

He's flushed with a fever and of a flu, but doesn't seem terribly aware of it,

"Do you happen to know any of the doctors who work here, ma'am?"

[margolotta]

"No, sorry," Margolotta says, amused. "I never need doctors. It's a vampire thing."

"A vampire, ma'am. Pardon my manners, Doctor John Watson. I seem to have a fever and I've been told there is a strange disease about this place. I am trying to see if I can be of assistance. You see I found myself in a rather unusual position and am trying to ascertain what has transpired."

[margolotta]

"Yes, vampire," Margolotta says, smiling brightly at him. "What's so strange about the disease?"

Perhaps he has it, if he's running a fever?

He claims to be this John Watson, but he feels like Moist von Lipwig. Margolotta has heard about the doppelgängers that turn up in Milliways, but this Watson feels to Moist-like for that.

"I have been that it makes you doubt your own identity. It sounds quite worrisome and I wish to add my knowledge to that of the other doctors here,"

He wipes his face as he finds he's sweating more as Moist tries to pull through the flu and leave. For a moment, mixed with Watson's certainty is some pure Moist panic.

Aha!

"I suspect you have it," Margolotta says, knowing that panic very well.

And the hidden, panicked sweat.

"Mr Spangler," John points out, seemingly appearing out of no where, "you're looking dreadful today."

He jumps and turns towards the voice,

"My name is Doctor John Watson, young man."

"Since when?"


... well, the tweed is a little different.

"That is my name,"

Watson is rather more firm and less playful than Moist, but he also is running a bad fever.

Uh...huh.

"Well, if you prefer to continue on this tirade, I certainly cannot stop you," says John a little stiffly.

He always did know Alfred was a little odd.

On to other matters.

"Have you seen anyone about your obvious ... disposition?"

"I am here in the hopes that one of the doctors who works in the infirmary will enter it,"

He glares at the young man, he really is remarkably rude.

But usually Alfred deals with it like he's an amusing little boy with a temper tantrum.

(John's grown used to it, really.

Not that he'd ever admit that.)

"Well, you're a doctor, aren't you?" he says, almost daringly. (Because he knows Spangler isn't actually this 'Doctor John Watson' fellow.) "Couldn't you technically diagnose yourself and ask the Bar for whatever it is you need?"

He pauses.

"Antibiotics, maybe?"

"I have been told there is a particular strain of flu here that appears to make people confuse their identity. As I have never heard of this before, I wish to speak someone that does know of it. Now you have not told me your name, young man and how you presume to know me."

When you're six months pregnant with twins, there are very few things that are worth getting out of a chair for.

One of those things is bathroom breaks. Unfortunately, they occur quite frequently.

Thus, there is a very pregnant woman of mixed African and Asian descent toddling past 'Watson' on her way to the ladies' room.

As she walks by, he stands up, leaning slightly on his cane,

"May I be of some assistance, ma'am?"

"No, no, I'm fine," says Alyx, waving him off. (She gets really tired of people treating her like an invalid just because she's pregnant. Nothing personal.)

"Of course, ma'am,"

He briefly leans against the nearby wall as his own head spins, he really must treat this fever.

Alyx frowns. "Are you okay?"

[morethanprops]

"I have a fever and wish to consult with one of the doctors here, since I do not feel able to treat myself."

[vance_prime]

She winces. "You want me to get you an ice pack or something in the meantime?"

"If it isn't too expensive, that might be a wise choice."
