Nori is in Milliways today, seated at a table under one of the lights, with one gauntlet taken part into lots of little metal pieces, with a can of mechanical lubricant in her hand, blue hair swept up into a messy ponytail.

She hates having to take apart her gauntlets--on a broader level she dislikes the gauntlets themselves, but there's precious little she can do about that--but they're getting creaky like all metal things are wont to do. If there's anyone with better knowledge of how to work with sensitive conductive devices, they might want to check her work before she inadvertently electrocutes something. Or someone.

Ask and you shall receive. In the form of someone who knows a lot about electronics.

Though for the moment, he's just watching the blue-haired girl tinkering. "Hey."

"...Hey," she returns, looking up mid-part-fitting. It takes her considerably little time to recognize that he's a cyborg, but she doesn't say it.

"I'm not interrupting anything, am I? Because I know what it's like to have someone talk while you're doing delicate work." That someone being Beast Boy.

"No, you're not. I'm just trying to do some maintenance. It doesn't help that I didn't design this version," she says, gesturing with the lubricant she's still holding.

He might notice that around one of her arms is a grounding bracelet strapped to a car battery.

"Need any help?

"What is that, exactly?" It's definitely different. And looks pretty low tech compared to his parts.

"I'm okay, thanks. And it's a control glove. It basically keeps me from short-circuiting anything I'm sitting near."

"That's a really good idea." He doesn't get too close. "I don't like being shorted out."

She slides a glance towards him. "I'd say that's probably a good instinct to have," she says, only a little dry.

"Don't worry, I'm usually fine around electronics with them on."

"So this is preventative maintenance?" He inches a bit closer. "Howcum you're electric?" A rude question, and given how his rudeness to Rachel hurt her, he should know better. But he thinks nothing of it.

"Yes, and because I'm a mutant," she says bluntly, going back to her work and pointedly beginning to reassemble the gauntlet. "It's a thing that happens when nature decides baseline humans could do with a few more potentially deadly fuckups somewhere in their DNA."

"Or superpowers. I'm friends with Bobby Drake. The ice guy." It's cool to him. "That is kind of a sucky thing to deal with, though."

"You don't say."

Suckier still is her version of the X-world, where all kinds of lovely less-than-fun shenanigans have been and will continue to occur. "Being able to shoot lightning at people, awesome. Not being able to regulate how much electricity you absorb, thus making your brain resemble that of a coke addict on a caffeine high, not so much."

"Ow. I...I better not say anything else about that. It's not really my business." See, he does learn from his mistakes sooner or later.

"I'm Cyborg."

"Nori," she introduces, though she doesn't hold out her hand. "Or Surge. Whichever you remember to use."

"Surge...your codename? So you're an X-Man...Woman...too?" That is always cool.

"Yes, I'm an X-Man. And Surge is my callsign," she agrees. "My team...we are the New X-Men."

"My team is the original Teen Titans." He guesses that like any good team, the X-Men grew.

"Most of who else would be on the team is dead," she says bluntly.

"Oh." He looks embarrassed. "I'm sorry."

"Wasn't your fault," she says, putting her glove together bit by bit. "As the saying goes, shit happens," she says a little dryly,

"Not a saying my mother would approve of, but I know what you mean. We've been kinda lucky." Cy has no trouble with other people using strong language. He just doesn't himself.

"We're not."

"Yeah. I think it goes with the whole mutant thing." He gets quiet for a bit after that.

"Yeah, it kinda does. As does the whole people-wanting-you-dead thing," she shrugs.

"Even though you're good guys." He shakes his head.

"So you can control your electric powers and do things like short out the bad guys' cars and gear?"

"If they weren't old-fashioned enough to use something that prevents me doing that, yes, I could."

"But you can find a way to control your powers in a fight, right?"
