Nori comes in looking...surprisingly normal. She still has her gauntlets on, as always, but she's in a very attractive short black skirt and a long sleeved grey shirt, with knee-high black boots. The heels made her taller, and she walked differently, but it'd take a while to tell that from the way she's standing stock-still and surprised.

"Uh. Not where I intended to be."

X blinks. Twice.

"Nori."

Beat.

"You are okay?"

It never hurts to check, right? Especially when there are multiple timelines involved.

"Um. Yeah, I'm fine. I was just...wanting to get out of the uniform."

She knows she looks different; she was hoping it wouldn't attract too much attention, but apparently...well, this is X she's talking to. "Why, do I look that bad?"

X considers Nori for a second. Then two.

Then she shakes her head.

"No."

Beat.

"You were worried? About that."

She presses a hand to the bridge of her nose. "Yeah. Generally I don't want to look bad," she explains. "These were clean."

"Generally you do not look bad," X says, matter-of-factly.

Then she hesitates.

"I do not know when you are from. Now. It is relevant?"

X's own Milliways timeline has crossed itself a time or two. She worries.

"Ah...no, that was sarcasm, X. I really just wanted to not be an X-man for a while. It still kind of sucks for us right now."

"I know."

She offers a shrug, one-shouldered and quick.

"You do not have to be an X-man. It is not the same as being a mutant."

Even if it feels that way sometimes.

"A-are you lost?" asks a small furry person nearby.

[electro_kinetic]

She takes a minute to look down. "Oh, no. I'm not lost, I know where this is...I just wasn't expecting it to show up where it did."

Beat.

"What are you?"

[young_womble]

"I-I'm a Womble." Wellington says. "And that's a waitrat." he points to the rat asleep on his shoulder.

[electro_kinetic]

"Yeah, I knew what a waitrat looked like," she says. "Just not...a womble."

Pause.

"That sounds really bad, I'm sorry. I'm a little off my game tonight."

"It's okay, m-most people don't know what I am." Wellington says, nervously.

[electro_kinetic]

"Am I frightening you?" she asks, crouching near him, arms folded in against her stomach to help camouflage the metal covering her hands past the ends of her sleeves.

"Does anyone ever intend to be here?" says the teenage girl sitting at the Bar with a rather impressive collection of broken nail files. (She finally got clothes figured out, and one of her few friends likes a good clothing challenge, but she's trying to find something in the apparently very slim Venn diagram of 'will file my nails' and 'I can afford it at home.')

"Well...sometimes?" she says with a shrug. "I usually do. Just wasn't tonight."

She notices the nail files, and looks up at the girl. "Nail problem?"

"I can't find anything that'll file them. Not that I would be able to afford at home. And I've been stuck here for... weeks."
She's lost track of how many. To be fair, sudden invulnerability has a way of occupying one's thoughts.

"Dremel tool with a grinding bit?"

Nori does not have this problem. But then she could power the Dremel Tool herself if she wanted to, which is enough of an oddity.

Amara smiles a little. "It's a thought, but I'd still have to save up to get one of those."
Apparently, when she was here before, money was no object, if the mind-boggling size of the tab in her name is any indication. But she can't exactly take that back to Los Angeles with her.

"You can bartend sometimes, to pay off your tab. Since I know I racked one up the first couple times I was here that I'm still working off."

She hates that bit, but it's just the way things work. "Chances are she'll be a little more lenient with you. I asked for some stupid shit the first time I was here."

Ako is having a dress up day too. Not much by way of heels for her, but a nice pair of flats paired with a slightly frilly skirt and blouse combo with tights all topped with a nice hat.

"There are worse places."

"Yeah," Nori agrees. "It's not that it's bad, just...different. I was kind of expecting this to be my dorm, not a bar."

[seat_five_girl]

"I think you might be the first person here I've met that's living in a dorm besides me," says Ako, "Are you at a boarding school too?"

[electro_kinetic]

"...Sort of? It is a boarding school, but it's for mutants. We don't get a lot of school stuff done anymore."

[seat_five_girl]

"Oh. Wait! Do you know a guy named Bobby Drake?"

It's not an accusing tone of voice, just surprised.

"Yeah, I know him. He's...interesting."

That's as far as Nori's willing to take it.
