It has been a while since Sarah's been in the bar and she probably looks a bit worse for wear. After all, dealing with Metal and every day life will do that to a person. She's actually glad that this place showed up on her and moves over to the bar. Crossing her arms, she lays her head down on them and suddenly a tape player pops up on her and she frowns slightly. "What's this for?"
The only answer she gets is the cassette tape that appears beside it. Just like the one she'd used before John was born. She hadn't been thinking about that but it does warrant a small smile and a thank you to Bar. "Can I get a beer, Bar, please?" When it appears she sits up, picks up the bottle, takes a sip of it and lets her eyes roam over the patrons. There were definitely some new faces about.

Classic.
When Ray had asked him about that spinny 'magic bar' later on at CID, he hadn't known what he was on about. Suppose he had one too many at the pub; could have made the whole thing up. Right now he's just trying to decide how it keeps showing up when he's trying to get into the loo. He doesn't remember drinking, but since it looks like he's already drunk, he might as well step in for a pint.
[OoC: Oh, well, if you're just going to tempt me like this I can't pass up a thread... XD]

"First time in the bar?"
Might as well cut to the chase, see if he'd been there before or not. It had been a while for herself, after all, so might as well start fresh so to speak.
[ooc: hehe Yes well Ray is yummy, so ya know. One of these days Sarah will have to meet Hunt too.]

He arches an eyebrow when he sees the bird, looking her up and down (and not even trying to be subtle about it). Well, now. She's bang-tidy.
"Not my first, luv. Though, uh -- if I'd met you before, I might not 'ave left."
no subject
"Why's that?" She asks with a slow smirk on her lips, leaning back against the bar a bit more. "I'm no one special."
no subject
Vital to conversation, they are.
"Nah," he says around a piece of gum. "I can tell, y' 'ave a few special qualities."

With a laugh she sits up straighter, there's authority with how she holds herself. Authority and something else unexplained we're sure. "Is that so? Tell that to all the women you run into?"
no subject
Ray's answer: "'Course not. I'm an honest bloke. If y' were a bag, I'd tell it like it is."
In his head, this sounds completely charming.
no subject
She sounds rather amused by that if only because of the men she dealt with when she'd been a simple every day waitress. Before her son had been born.
"You're not that bad on the eyes either, you know."

This is looking alarmingly like a rejection for a few short seconds -- not that Ray isn't used to those, though he'd never admit it. Still, they're not the sort of thing a bloke wants to keep tally of, so he's hunting for a good excuse when she comes at him with the compliment.
His eyebrows go up.
"So I've heard."
Result.
"Like wha' y' see, then?"
no subject
"What're you going to do if I say that I like what I see, hmm? That I like the whole package in front of me."
no subject
...
Then realizes Chris probably shouldn't be his first thought.
"Well, luv. I could show you a good time, I could." He grins. "What's your name?"
no subject
Though she does raise a slight brow at his words. She's been propositioned before and can't think of anyone saying it like that. They'd never been stupid enough. Then again they'd thought she was crazy too. After all, she'd always talked about the Machines. Not this time though.
"Can you then, stranger?"
no subject
"Ray."
He steps in at the same time, brushing her shoulder with the other hand as he lowers himself onto the seat next to her. "A looker like you shouldn't 'ave t' drink alone. Don' seem right."
no subject
The tape player and tape for the moment are forgotten, her attention fully on Ray. She can't help but be slightly amused at all the attention this man is giving her. Not that she doesn't like it, she does. It's been a long time since she was the focus of anyone's attention. The last person... no, she wouldn't go thinking about Kyle. Not today.
"I'm going to take you up on what you said too."

He grins, and a pint of bitters appears by his elbow. He's so distracted by Sarah and all her lovely attributes that he doesn't even notice it at first. Doesn't notice that it came out of nowhere, either.
"Then maybe you'll let me take you out. Someplace nice." No need to be presumptuous and scare her off by suggesting they skip that part and move straight to the fun, he thinks. But then what she said sinks in, and he dares to hope. "Aye? Wha' part?"
no subject
Oh she notices how he's pretty much ignored the pint appearing by his elbow. Ignoring the fact that Bar did that on her own. It's something that she's used to by now. Something that she'd forever be used to more than likely.
"You said you could show me a good time, Ray. I'm going to take you up on that."
no subject
Oh, she's too bloody good to be true.
"Where should we start, then?"
no subject
"Surprise me, Ray."
no subject
"All right."
Tricky business, birds saying things like that. Ray figures that must mean they're on the same page, until of course he suggests they get right to it and finds himself on the receiving end of an open fist. Still, he's never been the subtlest of blokes. So, he leans in, whispers in her, his grin brushing her cheek. He makes it absolutely clear just what his plans for her involve, and then nods to the door. "Shall we, luv?"
He doesn't know there are rooms upstairs. Or the whole business of other worlds, other dimensions, and the fact that this pub isn't nestled in his beloved Manchester.

"How about we head upstairs. Make use of my room. Unless you want to head out that door."
no subject
Brilliant! His eyes wander to the stairs, and he grins. Saves them the walk and the night air outside. Wouldn't want to sober up too much.
"Soun's perfect, sweet'eart."
no subject
Did he just? The last time she'd been called that was... well, when she was a teenager. When she'd been a waitress. She knew that Bar had her room ready just the way she liked it. So she slips off the stool, Bar taking the recorder back for later use.
"Let's go then, handsome."
With those words she takes his hand, not shy at all about doing it either. Then again she's not like most women. Anyway, she takes his hand fully intending to take him up to her room. Did she care who saw? No, not really. This is something they both wanted.

!!!
It's a bit poncy to hold hands with a girl, even when you know you're about to get lucky. His eyes dart around the room, but once satisfied that he doesn't see any familiar faces that might bring this up later, he gives her palm a gentle squeeze and makes sure she doesn't need to drag him along. He's eager, and he can treat a bird right. He might even get the door for her once they're upstairs.

"You've got good taste!" she yells, a good deal louder than she needs to. Clem's too used to bars that're louder and more crowded than Milliways...or more precisely, stripping in them.
no subject
"Thank you. And you don't have to yell, you can be heard just fine." Especially when there weren't a bunch of loud mouths there at the bar.

Giving her a smile and a nod,"Pleasure to meet you, Clementine. I'm Sarah Baum."
