There's a dark circle of hair in the lake. Occasionally, it slides up to reveal a face and a pair of shoulders, and then down again, sometimes out of sight entirely.

Atton is swimming again. He's also botherable.

There is a dog at the shore, barking when the odd thing in the lake comes up.

It's a dog.

Atton likes dogs, so when he next slides up, he freezes some water into a tennis ball sized sphere and tosses it lightly over the dog. The 'fetch' command is implicit.

The thing in the lake throws a ball! Of course Franz the dog runs after it.

Urquhart, in the meanwhile, is sitting in a tree and watching.

"Urqsy," Atton says gravely when he catches sight of Urquhart.

The dog, in the meanwhile, has caught the ball.

Urquhart grins.

"I have no food."

"You must be very proud."

"Of the good dog who is learning very quickly and nicely?" Urquhart says. "Yes. His name is Franz."

"Of the lack of food. But also of the dog, yeah."

"Why proud of the lack of food?" Urquhart says. "I just told you right away. No food to steal this time!"

"Because there's no food for me to steal. It's like a victory for you. A really minor victory."

"Before this, all our meetings have ended up with you escaping with my food," Urquhart points out.

Franz, in the meanwhile, has fetched the ball and put it down by the roots of Urquhart's tree.

"You don't expect me to get off just to throw your odd ball thing?" Urquhart says to the dog.

The dog woofs.

"'Twould be wise not to anger the dog," Atton says sagely, "it wants you to throw the ball, Urqsy, and it knows where you sleep."

"It's a he," Urquhart laughs, "and of course he does! He sleeps on the rug, or over my feet if I'm alone."

Over Moist's feet, too, if Urquhart's not alone and the dog woke up in the night and jumped up on the divan, and the humans didn't bother to push him off.

Guppy spots a glimpse of the wet face and shoulders.

He experimentally tosses a polo mint in the lake nearby.

In a manner not unlike a dolphin Atton slides up from the lake (further than before, so that the water line is level with his navel), snaps the polo up in his mouth mid-air, then vanishes beneath the water again.

He slides up again (only to the shoulders this time) and grins at Guppy.

Guppy laughs and applauds.

"You could make money doing that."

"I could," Atton says, treading water with a grin. "Tell me how you've been."

"Busy." Guppy says, sitting on a rock next to the lake. "With the flu and Valentine's day making me accidentally hit on Gene Hunt, of all people. Ended up with six stitches..."

He tosses another polo mint.

"How are you?"

"Alas, I don't know who Gene Hunt is," Atton says, catching the polo mint with his hand this time. "You okay? If we spar, I'll, er, avoid your head."

"Grumpy copper from the seventies. He and Alex seem to like each other for some reason but he hasn't half got a temper when it comes to adults." Guppy says.

"And sure, I'd like that. But yeah, try not to knock me out please. I'd ask you to heal up the stitches but people at home are expecting to look at them."

"I could probably heal up most of the damage while leaving it looking how it is. Mostly. People'll think you're healing up quickly, but they shouldn't suspect anything, I think."

"That'd be good, thanks." Guppy says.

"Want me to get you a towel?"

"I'm good," Atton says, swimming to shore and pulling himself out of the water. At which point it becomes clear that he's not wearing anything at all, but since Atton has no shame, he doesn't seem to care.

Once out of the water he shakes himself off and seemingly uses the Force to dry himself off, the water turning to steam as he very rapidly dries. It leaves his hair a little floofier than usual.

"Taunting the shark?" Guppy asks, with a smirk, nodding towards Atton's lack of shorts.

He takes off his jacket, shirt and trousers, leaving just his armoured vest and shorts.

"Vest on or off?"

"Pfft. Sure, I can fend off a shark attack," Atton grins, padding over to his clothes, digging out his boxer shorts, and pulling them on.

"Your choice. I'll be keeping one hand behind my back," he says, placing his left hand (being his dominant hand), behind his back.
