Ult. Ben Grimm - Mainbar
[OOM: Ben calls home and then gets asked a few awkward questions.]
Ben's entrance to the bar today is announced with a very loud "CLANG" as he hits his head on the obviously metal door jam on his side of the multiverse. "Oaf," he says though it really didn't hurt. It's just annoying. One more reminder how much his life has changed. He looks a lot like the other Ben Grimm that folks might be used to...that is if that Ben had started taking steroids and had gained over a foot in height. Hulking might begin to describe the differences.
He tries to close the door but the dent his head put in the frame prevents it so he takes a minute to smooth the steel back to a more or less straight angle before he turns to finally enter the bar proper. His first instinct is to turn around and go back but the possibility of real food is too strong so he heads for the bar and orders a plate of tacos. Government food just is not good for the body.

"Damn," he mumbles turning back to the plate. Bar helpfully materializes a fork and he reaches for it only to find his fingers are too hard to get a grip on it. The fork disappears and another one with a swooped handle he can grab appears in its place with a napkin saying, "Sorry."
He sighs and then remember the yelp he heard and looks up again. What's up there...

This is, but he's not...okay Tyler would like Milliways to stop taking the phrase 'designated normal zone' as a challenge.

Slowly he raises his hand to wave. Being careful not to make any sudden movements. Yeah the kid isn't SWAT and he's not carrying AK047s but his last meeting with normal people is still fresh in Ben's mind. What a way to find out you're bullet proof.

Or at least get a closer look to say hi.

"Ooff!" Nothing hurt, just a little jostle, you'd see more dangerous landings at playgrounds.

Or far from the truth.
Tyler stiffens up at hearing Ben speak before fixing him with a look that's a bit confused and just a little shrewd, like a dog who just heard a familiar command.

"In the...well I guess it'd be hard to call this flesh," he says with a wry grin.

Ben, there's a good-sized blue heeler with one blue eye and one brown eye looking hopefully your way.

OMNOMNOMNOM.
... we're really sorry. Dogmeat's not good at the whole concern-for-people-who-aren't-him thing, unless they're Ellen. And speaking of which-
"Are you all right, sir?"
She's about 5'4", and her hair's only got about a month's worth of growth back from a shaven scalp, and she's got way more scars than a nineteen-year-old should have.

"Yeah, I'm good, just...a little under the weather." Yeah that's the ticket. Deep breaths. Friendly dog, friendly little gal. Speaking of dog..."It was carne asada so no chicken bones," he says trying to distract and assure her there's nothing in the taco to hurt the pooch.

Nothing she saw in Vault 87 looked quite like this fellow, so he's probably not an FEV victim, whereever he's from. Although you never know. Corazon said things were different out west.

He's feeling better and glad the feelings of panic are fading. That was really weird.

She smiles then. "Good to meet you, Ben. My name's Ellen. Is this your first time here?"

Then she cants her head a little, blinking. "Oh? Um. Huh. It wasn't Forced Evolutionary Virus exposure, was it? Just out of curiosity, I mean- I have a friend who... that was a stupid question to ask, wasn't it. I'm sorry."

No, really, it does.
"I hope that doesn't mean you come from somewhere like my world. I mean, we've got radiation issues in spades. Is your world involved in atomic warfare?"

Once he's through with that he sits a little straighter, impressed with himself for getting that much.
