Last night Sam dreamed of fire and the attack at the cricket game and woke up sweating and terrified.

Working at the forge didn't help as much as he'd hoped since he couldn't concentrate enough and didn't want to wreck anything.

He found a practice sword and went to the pells, going through what he knows and falling into the comfortable motion of knowing how to fight.

It won't help him get over his fear but he does know how to fight and that's something.

It's still cold.

There's still snow, ew. Ew, ew, ew, snow.

The tropics-born-and-bred-and-raised Kait does not approve of snow. But there is Sam, and she's finding herself increasingly willing to brave things like snow for him.

He's been working enough that's he sweating, but his cloak is nearby.

At the moment his thoughts are deep into the motion as he keeps thinking about how bad Nick looked when he was here and how long its been since he's seen his door.

Cloak is seen, and appropriated. Yes, she already has a coat on, be quiet.

She'll wait until he hits a natural pause before calling out, "hey, Sam!"

The cloak has fur and is good and warm, its like what he wears at home and smiles when he sees her,

"Hello, how are you? How long have you been here?"

"Time is of no consequence," she declares, but she smiles back brilliantly. "I'm fine. Cold, but...fine. And you?"

His sword is quickly put away so he can hug her, there are dark circles under his eyes,

"I hope my cloak's helping. I've been better."

"Can't sleep?"

"A bad nightmare last night and stronger than they've been in a while. I hate not knowing when I'll see my door again,"

Though Belisaere has its own problems, at least there he was clearly being a prince, a bad prince but a prince.

Felix isn't really ready to go back out the door yet. But staying in one place, even a place with as much variety as Milliways, is starting to make him antsy.

So it is that he finds his way to the same area as Sameth, with much the same intention.

Having no idea whether Sameth would be interested in companionship, Felix keeps a bit of distance as he warms up.
