Joe isn't one to pass up free food.

And, well, company is good too.

So he helps himself to a couple cookies and a cup of coffee.

"Hi Joe, welcome to Life Support." Guppy says, passing a plate of biscuits over.

"Thank you," he says.

He can do this. There's nothing intimidating about talking to people in a social setting.

"What is this, this..." He gestures vaguely at the chairs and the food.

"This is a support group for anyone with problems or worries here or at home." Guppy says. "But it's also a social gathering; anyone is welcome."

"I'm not sure I have any problems," he says.

Mostly because he's not sure he has much of anything. He has a body now and that's about all, but it's more than he used to have so he really can't complain.

"That's okay, you're still welcome to the food." Guppy says. "How are you doing? Finding the building work okay?"

He nods, taking a bite of cookie.

"It feels good to be doing something again. I don't like sitting around and not working, I never have."

"Yeah, I know the feeling. Made me feel like I was losing it the first time I got Bound." Guppy says.

"What do you do outside the bar?"

"Nothing, anymore," he says. "I used to work in a bakery. Spent all night moving racks of bread and pies around. It was a lot of walking, but I didn't mind it. You know? At the end of the night you could look around and say well, we did this many pies tonight, this many loaves of bread. Something tangible."

"Oh, nice. There's a couple of people here who like baking - Rae and Urquhart." Guppy says.

"I didn't actually bake," he admits. "Just moved things around, from where they were baked to where they were packaged and from there to where they were loaded on the trucks. And if a guy didn't show up sometimes I'd have to help move other things around. But I didn't mind; sometimes variety is nice."

"Well if you're interested, they'd probably teach you."

"If you see them, and you think they'd be interested in teaching, let them know?" he says. "It's as good a trade as any, I suppose."

Guppy smiles and waves
"Evening Enzo, how are you?"
He asks, pouring tea.

"Doing pretty good,"
Enzo tells him between bites.
"How's the construction?"

"Going well, I think."
Guppy says, sipping his tea.
"About a foot high."

"How long do you think
the whole thing is gonna take?"
the young sprite inquires.

"Three or four more weeks."
Guppy says, after a thought.
"Approximately."

"Can I help at all?"
Enzo asks, as usual.
"Building, or setup?"

"Yes please." Guppy says.
"How much can you lift right now?"
he asks, judging height.

"Well, it's not the same,"
Enzo says, "but I can bench
about one-sixty."

"One sixty of what?"
Guppy asks, not knowing quite
What that is in bricks.

"Pounds," he clarifies.
"Seventy-three kilograms."
How much do bricks weigh?

"You'll lift less than that."
Guppy says, with amusement,
"That's more than Frogspawn."
