When Domino comes into the bar, she looks exhausted. Her tattered uniform has been traded in for a dress, which has the benefit of being easy to snag from a laundry line. It's too big for her, and very conservative, but it helps her blend in.

What doesn't help her blend in is the fact that she's still pretty briney, and her hair hangs limp and dirty behind her. Still, she's free. Exhaustion is acceptable, and so is being dirty.

She does groan a bit when she steps into the bar, but only because she'd finally made it to her apartment, and had been looking forward to a bath and a long sleep in her own bed.

After a minute she shrugs and takes a seat at the bar, asking to be provided with whatever would be best to eat. She'll get checked out at the med center in a little bit, but for now she needs food.

Sam's yawning, he had a long day in the forge and looks up from his dinner when she groans,

"Are you okay?"

"Yeah." She sighs a bit as she is presented with unadorned oatmeal and water. "I was just expecting home."

The oatmeal has vitamins added to it, and she takes a bit, groaning as she swallows. "But the service is better here, anyway."

"At least you can get cleaned up here before you head back. That's usually not bad,"

He doesn't know if anyone's waiting on her but time tends to stop.

"Yeah, my guns will be really upset if I come home looking bedraggled." She makes a small face. "I shouldn't complain. I'm glad to be going home, even if I'm slightly interrupted."

"Oh, right, yes, that's always good,"

He looks back for where his door should be but its still not there.

Domino arches an eyebrow. "Ah, yeah. I was stuck for a while. Well, I wasn't really here. It's. . . complicated. But I know the feeling."

"Milliways sometimes has a a way of making things that are already complicated even more."

"No kidding. My life was complicated enough before this place, but it's gotten way worse since my first time here."

She eats as slowly as she can manage, but her hands are shaking as she eats. It makes her move a bit faster.

He notices the shaking but isn't sure how to comment on it so drinks his wine,

"I can believe that."

She nods. "So who're you?"

"Sameth of the Old Kingdom, which isn't on Earth,"

Its one of those things he's found helpful to add.

"So horse and sword stuff?" That's pretty interesting. "Like in books?"

"With magic too, yes,"

Here he seems to be closer to those of earlier times, which is odd.

"So can you do magic?" That would be pretty interesting to see. It's been so long since she's seen a new person.

"Yes, I'm a Charter Mage so I can do a fair amount. Is there magic in your world?"

"Yeah. We've got Doctor Strange, and a bunch of small magic people. I've never seen anyone do it, though."

She looks at her oatmeal. "Can you make this taste like something less healthy?"

He looks at her oatmeal and laughs,

"When I was younger and served that, I'd always add lots and lots of honey, always helps."

She laughs, though it's very weak, and leaves her aching. "Right, that was a stupid question. What kind of stuff do you use it for?"

"I work in the forge here so mainly to make things but I know how to fight with it too,"

At home he'd add in that he's also Abhorsen-in-Waiting but everyone in the Old Kingdom knows that and what it means. Its sort of nice here to not have to as it doesn't mean anything.

"So you can blow stuff up?"

Domino has something of a one track mind, when the possibility of things blowing up is mentioned.

"If I have to, yes, but I also know how to manipulate fire in the forge to make things or get spells into weapons."

"That's pretty cool. I've wished for better powers a bunch of times. Controlling fire has always been a favorite."

She could do a lot more with pyrokinesis than Pyro.

"Powers? What can you do?"

"I can control luck a little bit. But not consciously. It's a pain in the ass, sometimes. But it's saved that ass a bunch anyway, so it could be worse."

"How? I've never heard of anything like that."
