Moist walks through the Front Door a picture of elegant nervousness in his best three piece pinstripe suit, fiddling with a pocket watch and its not until he's at the counter that he snaps the watch firmly shut.

Then he orders a drink, mutters a heartfelt curse in Uberwaldian and downs it.

Once he's done that, he sits and looks around the Bar, there's still a nervous energy about him but now there's a touch of excitement instead of fear.

He'll need to figure out when the funeral is and how close he can cut leaving but that's part of the challenge.

Teja is leaning by the bar, watching that whole entrance with pointed, suspicious interest.

Moist has had far too many eyes on him lately and looks over to Teja,

"Can I help you?"

"What with, one would wonder?" Teja says.

He raises an eyebrow as he sips his drink,

"I've been told I'm talented at a variety of things."

[ostro_goth]

"Maybe not at things that I would find helpful," Teja says.

[morethanprops]

"I try not to assume things,"

Especially not with Teja who always seems to be looking for weak spots.

[ostro_goth]

"Tell me what you are good at," Teja says, "apart from providing satisfaction to my murderer, and that red-headed woman. I would wish no part of that."

Moist shrugs and takes another drink before saying,

"I'm good with people and have a decent eye."

"A decent eye for what?" Teja asks, but he was almost smiling.

Raylan's settled at a nearby table, one with a good vantage of the entrance and the counter.

He glances up from his paperwork each time the Front Door opens.

Moist doesn't go unnoticed; Raylan's seen that energy a thousand times if he's seen it once — usually radiating from someone who's less of a law-abiding citizen, and more of the law-breaking persuasion.

He doesn't stare, but he's taking careful note of the man's mannerisms, and trying to put a name to the familiar face.

Spangler, he remembers. Alfred Spangler.

Once he's feeling rather more settled, Moist notices Raylan, another lawman and nods.

The scratch of Raylan's pen pauses; he returns the nod, eyes sharp and appraising beneath the brim of his Stetson.

His collar and tie are loosened and his suit looks as if he's been wearing it slightly too long, there's also a wariness to him.

He's debating if he should say anything, it would be polite, "Marshal, isn't it? I think we met at a happy hour."

"That's right," he says. "Raylan Givens. Mr. Spangler, isn't it?"

"Yes, that's me. I've just had a busy day. Don't let me disturb your work,"

It just never hurts to have someone involved with the law on your side.

Raylan keeps his expression impassive.

"Oh, this is just the tail-end of a paper trail — nothing too urgent."

"A paper trail, that must be less exciting than other kinds of trails?"

Moist does his best to not leave paper trails at least not helpful ones and tries to glance at what Raylan's looking at.

--Hey, it's someone Claudia's been keeping an eye out for, when she's been in. After that whole Dr. Watson debacle... yeah.
"You done thinking you're a doctor, Al?" she says, from a little further down the Bar.

The phrasing makes him wince and he says,

"Yes, I know who I am now."

[claudiometer]

"Good. That was epic weird. If that'd happened at home I would've called work-related shenanigans, but..." She shrugs. "This place makes it hard to tell sometimes."
Or all the time.

"It was rather disturbing. I like knowing who I am,"

Since usually he's the only one who does.

[claudiometer]

"Most people do. How've you been?"

[morethanprops]

"I've had better days."

[claudiometer]

"Bummer." Even though today's been pretty good to her so far, she knows the feeling in general.
"But as long as you've also had worse days I'd say you're in good shape."

[morethanprops]

"Yes, it could be far worse but I made it out,"

Not all the way, but he's not being harassed by guards anymore.
