There are sausages and burgers for various dietary requirements. The smell is wafting over the back garden.

Ooooh, barbecue!

Not that Cy has any idea what Life Support is. Aside from the systems on the T-plane that allow it to travel in space without everyone suffocating.

"Hi, welcome to Life Support." Guppy says. "Sausage?"

"Sounds good!" He takes two, so as to not be greedy about it. "What's Life Support?"

Guppy offers him rolls, onions and sauce on the next table.

"Life Support is a group gathering where people can talk about anything that's worrying them, here or at home, or just meet new people. But it's open to all, whether you just want free food or some company."

"Ah. A support group. Gotcha." He adds mustard, and ketchup, and relish, and something that may or may not be hot sauce. "You a psychologist?"

"I'm Dr Guppy Sandhu, I'm actually an elderly care doctor but this group has been run by non-professionals before." Guppy says. "Mostly we just try to be there for people."

"That's cool. But I really don't need that." He's got the Titans after all.

"That's all right, it's quiet tonight and there's no need to waste sausages." Guppy says.

"They're not bad. But different." Not that "different" stops him, so long as it's from Earth.

"Different? You don't have sausages at home?"

"We have hot dogs. These aren't hot dogs." Seems like a crucial difference.

"Ohh, frankfurters." Guppy says. "Yeah, these are regular sausages."

"They have hot dogs in England...you are English, right?" All those not American accents sound the same to him.

"Yeah, we have the tinned ones, and we call regular sausages in buns hot dogs too. And yes, I'm English."

"Wow. You learn something every day." He eats his sausage pretty fast. "And no one there is upset that you're eating American food?"

"Not that I know of. Why, should they be?"

"There was this crazy guy called the Mad Mod who tried to rescind American independence in Jump City, and make everyone eat English food." Bangers and mash...ick. "I guess he doesn't like hot dogs either."

"Huh. Well our food isn't so bad."

"He just doesn't like America. Or young people. Or anything after 1970."

"How strange. I guess that is the attitude over some of the older people in the UK, but not so much now that we share so much popular culture and stuff."

"That sounds a bit extreme for trying to change the national diet." Guppy says. "Jamie Oliver is a nationally celebrated figure for attempting much the same."

"It's more that he tried to take over Jump City. And that he kidnapped us. And that he's a bad guy." Though Cy would be upset with anyone who tinkered with his diet.

"Ah, yeah, better reason." Guppy says. "I figured there was more to it."
