Sam enters from the back door and heads to the Bar to order food when he notices that he can see a Front Door.
Since he doesn't really trust what he's seeing, he finishes his order, gets his food and settles it on a table near the door.
Then he eats while still watching the door before finally getting up and reaching for the handle and pulling on it, it doesn't move,
"Charter, is this some kind of cruel joke?"
He's going to just keep trying the handle for a few more pulls before sitting down and glaring at the door and by the same token anyone entering or exiting.

He's been fascinated to the point of near obsession with the door since his vanished.

"I can see it but can't open it. Don't do that."

He tilts his head.
"Do what?"

Clearly it's Sameth's fault that he would have attacked the Fool for showing up right behind him and startling him.

He's trying to remember if he's met anyone who talked about seeing their door but it not opening.

"The Old Kingdom, huh. What's that like? Is there a new kingdom too?"

Sam moves his hair so that the Fool can see the Charter Mark on his forehead.

He does the first thing that comes to mind which is to lean over and lick it quick as a wink be for jerking back with a startled noise. His tongue burned. Apparently the Fool and his folk are rather like wild magic to the Charter and reacted accordingly.
owch.

He grabs the table with one hand as he instinctively creates an attack spell and holds a Charter spell blade in his hand,
"Why did you do that?"
no subject
He's probably not much of a threat currently.
"Ow...!"
no subject
"What are you?"

There's a pause. "I'm guessing you never heard of me."

Sam doesn't know what he's feeling from the Fool
no subject
"No. Man created me back when they were just learning to put names to ideas and fears."

"Created you? To do what?"

He glances up at the rafters and sees Mogget, who gets a grin.
no subject
That doesn't make any sense to Sam.
no subject
Fear doesn't make sense! It just is!

"Though, if you'd like, you can call me Alexander. It's who this was before I wore it," he says. "And what is an Abhorsen and why do you have to wait?"

Sam shrugs, the Fool's confusing.

"Necromancers do that. We do all we can to protect the Wall and make sure that Ancelstierre never has to even know about the Dead. Most of them don't and think that the Old Kingdom and the Charter are silly superstitions."

Or, just because it tastes terrible doesn't mean it doesn't do good.

And steals some of Sam's food, since he doesn't seem to be eating it.
