Three, for the price of one!

At the Bar proper is Bonzo Madrid, munching on some dinner after a long shift at the Forge.

In one corner of the Bar is a certain Mandalorian, un-helmeted at the moment and working on cleaning a field-stripped blaster. Boba Fett looks like he could use a hand with...well, whatever is ailing that particular weapon at the moment.

And at a table all his own is Col. Miles Quaritch, taking full advantage of his time in the Bar to dispense with the latest round of incident reports so he can spend more time actually doing his job when he gets back to Hell's Gate.

Lots of people clean guns in Milliways, Sam finds it a great way to learn about how they're put together.

This man though looks concerned and so Sam pauses with his drink to ask,

"Is something wrong with it?"

Fett looks up and sighs. "I think something got lodged between the power packs and the barrels." Jammed guns stink. Blasters locking up? Even worse.

"Maybe I can help get it out if you'll show me where. I work in the forge here and I'm good at fixing things,"

Sam's dressed in his normal rather medieval outfit but he's got the grime of the forge on him and does know what he's doing.

Fett nods and puts the parts he's working with down. "Feel free. I'd slide it over, but I might lose a screw." Field strippable or not, there are always screws that can go missing in a weapon.

"Thank you, could you show me exactly where the problem is?"

Fett gets up and steps aside for Sameth to get in.

"Something is not letting the power discharge like it should. It might be a frayed wire, but it's probably something clogging up at the back of the barrel. I'm just worried I vaporized some dirt in there when I was out at the range and it hardened in there."

"That will make it tricky to check safely. I think I might know a way. May I?"

First he'll do a quick spell to feel see inside, its one he does when checking some of his projects and then he'll figure out how to clean it.

Fett nods in assent. He's usually pretty territorial about his weapons, but...he's been in the Bar long enough that he's lightened up a bit.

"What do you plan to do?"

"Just a spell to figure out what's inside it."

Fett nods. "Go ahead. Just...try not to ruin it."

That might make Fett a bit irritated.

Sam gives Fett a look, he knows what he's doing and traces a Charter Mark in the air and then there's an image of what the inside of the blaster looks like.

Sure enough, something happened to the wiring between the power pack and the barrel: Some dirt fused to the back end of the barrel, and it caused a bit of the wiring to fry.

In short...time to replace components!

"There's some dirt fused to the very back of the barrel, which is what's causing the problem. Do you have a replacement?"

Fett mutters something...well, there's no ready translation handy, but one is not likely necessary.

"Back in my ship. Not here."

"I could probably help with making some parts, but I've never dealt with a weapon like yours before. So it would probably be safer to use a replacement you know fits."

Fett nods. "I'll have to order it from the Bar, I think." Pause. "If you'd like, I can show you how they work."

Since Sameth seems interested and all...

"If its not too much of an imposition, I'd like that."

Fett smiles just a bit at that, and gestures for the blaster so he can strip it down to its components. Since he has to take it apart anyway...

"So, you have your power packs..."

Colonel Miles Quaritch?

Have a cinnamon roll. It's on the small plate being set next to your elbow by that red-headed baker.

Quaritch notes the plate...and smiles up at the baker, gratefully accepting the cinnamon roll proffered.

"Thank you."

"You're welcome," she grins. "Figured something has to make paperwork not so bad."

"It certainly doesn't hurt, that's for sure." And he takes a bite into the roll. Yep, it hits the spot. "So...how long has it been since we last talked?"
