Caribbean inlet, early afternoon
Urquhart is sitting in the sun, bare-chested and sprawling on a picturesquely fallen palm tree trunk, a large bottle of drink and a basket of food by his side. He's spread a towel in the sand, but Franz the dog is lying on that, snoring peacefully. Urquhart has brought a book as well, but at the moment, he's just looking over the lake, the sun on his face, and doing exactly nothing.

She smells the dog before she sees it, but she's got the tree trunk serving as a barrier between them as she sneaks closer, paws silent on sand.

Her tail twitches, briefly, soft and deliberate along the outside of the man's thigh.

He doesn't even startle before he realises who that must be; instead, he smiles and touches the bushy tail-tip.

In a blink's time, there's a red-haired woman sprawled out at his feet instead.

He kneels in the sand to pull her close and kiss her again. Words are so secondary where there is Saffron.

When she pulls away, she chuckles, twirling a long strand of his blonde hair around her fingertip.

"You were gone for quite a while. We missed you. You missed Moist being drunk on Atlantean, which was the usual Hilarious Drunk thing squared."

"And neither of us wants that."

Who wouldn't make an exception for Saffron? On the other hand, that stuff is vile.
"He insisted his legs were gone, or didn't work, alternatingly. I had to carry him upstairs. We don't want him to temporarily lose even more important things, after all."

"The poor man. I hope you saw to his immediate needs."

Beat.
"Epic is not enough. I should perhaps say saga-esque."
no subject
"The aftermath isn't worth the experience."

Charles is prolonging his day off. He's been busy lately, and sleeping a full night alone is helping.

Urquhart leans back. The sunlight makes his blond hair and the pelt on his chest and arms glimmer golden.

"Why did you ask me to sleep with Teja?"

Beat.
"And, to be honest, I wanted something to throw in his face if necessary, but it wasn't, so far. I'm keeping the secret because I can use it only once. The only person who I told is Alfred."
