From a large table in the middle of the bar comes the smell of small freshly baked cakes (normal and sprite).

Also on the table are a variety of icings, silver balls and sprinkles.

Margolotta usually does cocoa and tea at her meetings, but she finds it amusing to come to Milliways and find a support group in session, so she approaches to talk shop for a bit with whoever runs it.

"Hi!" Guppy smiles. "Welcome to Life Support. Cake?"

"I'd rather just have a cup of tea," Margolotta says. "I'm just curious how you run things here."

Guppy pours her a tea.

"Well, we offer a sympathetic ear, food, and a bit of distraction."

"What kind of problems do you work with?" Margolotta says.

"I couldn't disclose details, but it's mostly problems from home, or difficulties adjusting to the bar." Guppy says.

"I run groups weaning vampires from drinking blood and hunting people," Margolotta says. "It gets involved sometimes."

"Can any vampire do that, or is it only certain types?" Guppy asks.

"I don't know," Margolotta says. "I've only done it with vampires from my own world, naturally. But I'd quite like to try others."

"Well it might be worth asking around, but I can't disclose who I know who is a vampire. I think it goes against confidentiality."

"I might offer on my own," Margolotta says. "Just to see if it can be done. Which is probably not a sufficient motive to mess up somebody's life."

"Oh, no, messing up lives isn't good. I can't refer them to you if you're going to hurt them."

"Well, changing one's life is never easy," Margolotta says, "and giving up blood is a great challenge to any vampire. There lives are never the same afterwards, and they have to risk a lot on that journey. So many habits to unlearn, associations to sever. It's the same for vampires from my world as well. I always warn them first."

"How do they get enough nutrition?" Guppy asks.

"Cocoa is quite nutritious," Margolotta says, "but some stick to animal blood which they buy quite legally at the butcher's."

Guppy nods.

"That makes sense. I think there's a blood substitute at the bar too."

"Oh, that is very reassuring to know," Margolotta says. "So nobody will have to risk starving, if vampires from other worlds can't really make do with cocoa."

"Indeed." Guppy says. "Many a vampire here has benefitted from it."

"It is something to consider," Margolotta says.

"Though I don't know whether it satisfies the craving part." Guppy adds.

"That's what willpower is for," Margolotta says. "And the support of our fellow league members."

Guppy nods.

"How big is the league?"

"Well, there weren't that many of us to begin with," Margolotta says. "A few dozen vampires."

"And you founded it?"

"Yes, with some friends," Margolotta says.
