At long last, an EP

It's been a while since she's spent much time sitting in the Bar proper, but today Annabelle Newfield is hanging out in the common area, drinking coffee.

She snorts in amusement when Bar presents her with a copy of this book. "You're a few weeks early yet," she remarks dryly.

Enzo is heading for the stairs but he veers aside when he spots her. "Hey, Annabelle!"

"Hey, kiddo," Annabelle replies with a grin. "How'd the folks at home take the news?" About Users, that is.

"Better than I was afraid of! The cadets, anyway. I don't really know what the older Guardians thought."

[aeons_crackshot]

"I expect the older Guardians don't know what they think about the whole mess either," she replies with a chuckle.

"I bet. But I don't have to deal with them," he says smugly. "I just send out the reports."

"Sounds like a plan," she says with a smirk. "Let someone else handle the possible accident waiting to happen."

[a1enzo]

"Well, Turbo told me to tell them that if they let it leak to the civilians, they have to clean up their own spam. Hopefully, that'll be enough."

"I bet it does. Nobody wants to have to shovel all of that by themselves."

[a1enzo]

"'Course, it helped that I built the /dev/null out of the construction toys during Cubefall."

"Is that lucky or something?" Annabelle asks. (She missed that bit of info, apparently.)

[a1enzo]

"That's what I've heard. Kind of hard to tell, I guess, but I figured I'd better try."

"Doesn't look like it hurt things, anyway," she says with a nod. "And a little extra luck on your side can come in handy."

[a1enzo]

"Right. So things got started off pretty good, I mean, they wouldn't stop asking me questions but it could've been way worse. And then Caret had the idea to do a concert of User music."

"What kind of User music?"

Rap music's existence still baffles Annabelle, for instance.

Enzo is apt to like rap considerably better than his mun does, but he still favours metal and punk.

"Different kinds of rock. We're trying to go for some songs that'll make sense to sprites, for common ground, and some that'll teach them more about humans."

"A very good idea, and not one I would have thought of," Annabelle admits.

"Caret usually thinks of things other people wouldn't. But I think it's working. I'm doing movie nights, too."

"Are those going over well too? I imagine some of the sights in them are more than a bit of a shock to sprites."

[a1enzo]

"They're mostly really confused so far," he admits. "But they're still interested, so that's a start."

Annabelle laughs at that. "Seeing more modern movies came as a shock to ME, and I was at least familiar with the movies of my day and age."

Seriously. She was used to black and white and little in the way of special effects.

"Was it the movies you had a problem with, or the modern stuff in them?"

[aeons_crackshot]

"A bit of both," Annabelle admits. "Different standards, different ways of telling things..." She shrugs. "I got used to it eventually."

Enzo nods. "It's not so much the movies themselves that're weird to us. It's just the human stuff."

"That's quite a lot of things all by itself," she teases. "Humanity confuses humans at least half the time."

[a1enzo]

"That's because you're all random," he replies cheerfully.
