Late night childpup

It's late, for your given values of time in a timeless(?) interdimensional bar. For the little boy sitting by one of the fireplaces trying to focus on the book in his hands, it really is past his bedtime. However, Tyler just got this and two other books for the second time, today, and even with that cough, he wants to at least make it past the first lessons before bed.

Toby still hasn't mastered certain things, despite his best efforts, so the first set of books for the learning course got turned into a can of lemony colored gummi sardines, a portable fan that made fart noises when you used it, and a ham sandwich.

The black and gold mini cyberraptor at his feet looks up at Tyler as the kid goes into a remarkably hard coughing fit, and barks at him.

"Tyler-san? Are you okay?"

"Nhnn...it's just a sore throat..." Tyler looks up from his book towards Ako, though a bit groggily.

"All right, I guess," says Ako, "Are you studying Japanese now?"

[basic_powers]

"Yeah, it's for fun over the summer." He smiles a little before starting to cough hard again.

The coughing gets a frown, but Ako brings up a small smile before speaking again.

"Summer is always nice."

"Yeah, no school back home, and I get lots of free time to myself."

Winston, down by Tyler's feet, grumbles nosing at his leg.

"I'm fine...easy Winston."

"I think he's just worried," says Ako, "Or maybe hungry. I've never really had pets at home."

[basic_powers]

"Worried, he can't be hungry cause he just ate a big bowl of chicken guts."

Ako wrinkles her nose at that and nods. Even small things need time to actually digest after eating.

"Is there a particular reason you are looking at learning Japanese Tyler-san?"

[basic_powers]

"Someone suggested it to me when school ended, that I might like learning it..." Okay, so that's only half a lie right there...but it's not untrue.

Revenant is a part of school.

"I wanted something to keep busy with."

Ako nods to that.

"Memorizing hiragana would do that," she agrees, "I've been trying to add some French to what I know, but it's slow going."

[basic_powers]

"If I can master this, or after I master it...I'll try french another year." Tyler smiles, and begins coughing again. "....ugh.."

"I think you've gone past a sore throat," says Ako, "You should probably drink something warm and go to bed Tyler-san."

[basic_powers]

"....dangit...I don't wanna get sick..it's summer, for pete's sake."

"Nothing says you can't take any naps you need in a hammock when it's warm," consoles Ako, "But I think it's a little late for that tonight."

"...fine..." Tyler sighs, picking up his books and heading towards Bar for something hot to drink before coughing again.

How do you catch a cold during the summer??

Just like any other time, but with longer days. Cryogenics is probably hard on an immune system too.

"Maybe Guppy-sensei has something to speed it up," offers Ako as she heads towards Bar too, "If nobody knows how you feel at home it should be all right."

Cryogenics, getting a superpowered white blood transfusion, living with the embodiment of superpowered 'oops'....all these things wreck holy havok on the immune system.

"I don't think anybody would know at home, so..." So she's right, he could probably wait it out over here until whatever this is passes. God he really hopes he's not getting that stupid hallucinogenic flu again.

Could be worse. Could be necromancers. Classical necromancers.

"So set up a hammock here, play fetch with your, um, Winston and drink plenty of lemonade."

[basic_powers]

"...Winston's a mini cyber raptor....kind of like a dog with extra metal and teeth."

...Don't give his universe any bright ideas.

"...Only if Guppy says I should be....but that sounds okay."

"...Right," says Ako, "But after you've had some sleep. Try and get some anyway."
