There's a mostly neglected (and now fairly cool) cup of tea sitting on Lily's table this evening.
This is because she's far more occupied with flipping through the envelope of photographs she has brought into the bar with her.
Most of them are of the same group of Hogwarts students, and were shot in the same comfortable looking, mostly red common room of Gryffindor Tower.
All of them are moving, as wizarding photographs do.
This is what happens when you have a bunch of Sixth Years, a camera, and an otherwise unoccupied Thursday evening.

The surprise is almost palpable.

"Yeah. Wizarding photos do.
"Hello, Peeta.
"Want to see?"

"And this is Cliona, another of my roommates, and Joanna, stumbling back in after Quidditch practice, making a show of looking tired and put upon. That's Cliona's boyfriend, Fenton, in the background, rolling his eyes."

Basically, feel very sorry for Bear, her old partner.
So yes, that'd be a fun-sized battle mage peering at the pictures, having come to a complete standstill on her way towards to the couch.

They threw her for a loop the first time she saw them, too.

"I'm Lily Evans."
no subject
She's never going to quite understand it.
"Yekaterina - your accent, it is English, no?"
no subject
Lily nods. "And, yes. I'm from Lancashire, in the north of England.
"Yours is Russian, right?"

That would be the sound of one terribly enthusiastic, almost seemingly back-to-normal (at least for now) grandson.
He is so glad to see her.
Because -
"You'll never guess who I met the other day!"
no subject
Hey, just because she'll never guess doesn't mean she won't try.
(And, oh, it's good to see him smiling again.)
no subject
"Who?"
He laughs a little.
"Anyway, no. Not him, whoever he is. Guess again!"
no subject
"Queen Elizabeth I.
"George Harrison.
"Christopher Marlowe.
"Sir Lancelot."
no subject
"No, no, no."
He lets out a theatrical sigh.
"I suppose you'll never guess."
Besides, he can't keep it in any longer.
"I met Viola of Messaline."
no subject
" ... from Twelfth Night?"

"Never seen a moving photograph before?"

"Well, I'm a Witch and they're magic.
"Lily Evans."
no subject
He offers her a worn, somewhat half-hearted smile. "Alex."
no subject
She studies his face for a second.
"Are you all right?"
