Edward was seated in a booth, reading a book.
At least he seems to be reading a book.
Eyes moving. And page turning.
There's, also, a girl sitting in the other booth.
Well. On the air, on the top of the other booth's back.
As per usual, shuffling a deck of cards between her hands.
They might be talking. Or ignoring each other. It's rather hard to tell.
But they both do seem to end up glancing at each other now and then.
[Two for one. Feel free to tag both, or one. Just make a note or mention whichever other having wandered off so I know who you are tagging.]

"Excuse me, is this seat taken?"
Tall, regal, polite. Dressed in greys and white, with silver stars twinkling in his long, dark hair.
(ooc: slow as mud, hopes that is ok? As for whom - a vampire might be interesting.)

Edward had been grateful when Star finally flitted off. There was still a strain there, in that. Her presence. Reminding him too much of the time in Rio. So there's that first. And then. Well. There's a little surprise for asking. People, instinctively give him (all of his kind) wide berth. But it's in a rather contained expression as Edward looked up from his reading.
Paused briefly, unshifted expression all the while, before he shook his head. Finding his manners. "No, it's fine."

It's not that he hasn't noticed that something is - strange - about the young Man. It's just that this is Milliways and one must accept a certain level of strangeness.
He takes a small sip of his wine, enjoying the fragrant steam wafting up from the mug.
As he sits there, he just might prove a little difficult to read. Not by design, just by nature.

Edward kept the hold on his book. Still up, still open, but he hadn't hidden behind it yet. "I don't believe we've met before."

His eyes are bright and intense.

Right. So. First Viola.
And then Elrond.
Apparently, Milliways was throwing books at him now?
Edward's expression hadn't deviated in the milliseconds of internal reaction. He inclined his head, calmly, respectfully, but without any extra show to it, if rather simply taking in the details of the half-elf more carefully, specifically, now.
"Edward Cullen. How long have you been coming to Milliways now?"
no subject
"And you?"
He is older than he looks, if Elrond is to guess. There is something about his eyes.
(occ: bedtime for me)

There really is. Something about his eyes, and his stillness. The life of Man in Edward is but an emulation at the best of times. And he's been through so much in the last half year. Edward's face shifted as he thought about the return of the question. Reflecting.
"By the time at home, it's been a year and three months. By Milliways time, here, it's been almost three now."

At this time in his life, he enjoys it. Uses it even, as a way to stretch all the time he has left in the world he knows. Before it is time to depart.

"Once you realize how to utilize it."

His guess is that the youngster in front of him is nowhere near as young as he looks. That would explain his words. Not that it would be the only possible explanation of course.

Time, more than anything else, educated well.
no subject
Not an outright question.
no subject
"You may find that same patience will be needed with those who are young--" There's a faint flicker to drawing his mouth faintly crooked. "-er here."
no subject
He's not in a hurry to discover what exactly the young one, who isn't, in front of him is. In Milliways it still feels as if he has an eternity in front of him. As opposed to home, where things have sped up to an almost Mortal pace now.

"Do you like it so far?"

(And Edward Cullen, who was a vampire and did not have to move if he did not actually choose to, did not visible shift with the one word. Except, maybe, to people who are not quite people, a being doesn't have to actually shift irritably to be shifting irritably.)

Who isn't deigning to look from his book.
Not to contradict a few different things there.
She turned over a card, showing it to her older brother.
The Ace of Pentacle. It fit so very well, didn't it.
Given all that had come and gone since Moon.

He looks at the card with a tilt of his head and then back at the clearly sullen Edward. Sulky, sulky boy. "Has he had a turn of good fortune?"
no subject
"Everyone's does eventually."
But then Death is cease of all burden, too.

Even if he is rather used to the worries of those here.
But it does bear a glance when certain details connect.
Re: ooc: edward
She looked up, not really seeing anything out of the ordinary (or as much as one would count the Bar as 'ordinary), when she caught the glimpse of a young man looking at her. Before she had a grasp of English, she had to learn how to read expressions to understand context of what they were saying. She couldn't really read this man's expression, but she could tell he was looking at her.
"Are you well?" She asked.
Re: ooc: edward
Re: ooc: edward
"As you say, well enough." She answered.
Anne couldnt' help but notice how handsome he was, but then there were many handsome men at the court. The king liked to surround himself with such men, between them and Katherine's house hold-it was a dangerious combination.
"I'm only here to mull over things."
Re: ooc: edward
"It is a good place for it." And that much is unfaded truth.
