The last time Liir was here, he was told that he could request a bartending shift to make a little money to cover his tab. He doesn't have a tab yet, but he's hoping he can get a meal out of one shift at least. So when he gets to the counter, he says, quietly, a little unsure of how this works, "If you don't have anyone else working tonight, could I take over for you?"

He gets a napkin replying in the affirmative and a specials board. After much thought, he scribbles out:

Specials
ale
wine

It's about all he's sure he can manage.

[ooc: I meant to get this up so much earlier! So consider this post open until it scrolls, though I will need slowtimes around 11:30 PST.]

"Wine," requests the stone-skinned chimera, tossing a few coins on the bar before taking a seat.

The chimera nods, accepting the drink with a light, "Thanks."

To be truthful, Zelgadiss is younger than his transformed body would have one guess. In many lands, he would not be old enough either to serve or drink alcohol. Certainly not old enough to be so familiar with its effect.

Or to have such a tolerance for it, though that may be as much thanks to his chimeric body as to his experience with it.

"It's good," he decides, setting the empty glass down on the bar and pushing it gently across. As gentle as he is, there is still the faint sound of stone grinding against glass. "Again, please."

His skin is slate grey stone, his hair bluish-grey wire. Pebbles set into the stone mottle his face and fingers. Thankfully, the bar stools in Milliways are strong, or else Zel's weight would easily break them.

"Either way," he shrugs, not picky.

Zel watches him pour the second glass, impassive. It may not be that Liir does a bad job at hiding his impulse to stare. Zel is rather sensitive about such things.

"Thank you," he says, setting a few more coins onto the bar as he takes his glass.

"You aren't a bartender I've seen before."

"She asked me to bartend, once," Zelgadiss says, his tone dry. "I chose to leave instead of doing it."

He really doesn't do well with so many people looking at him.

"Is this a wine from your world? It isn't one I recognize, but it is good."

"I don't know of it. So either it is a district in a country in the Outer World, which has hardly been explored yet, or your world is not mine. Likely the latter, knowing this place."

"No," he replies, shaking his head slightly. His wire-like hair jingles faintly as it moves.

"In turn, I don't suppose you would know of Seiruun, the temple of the Fire Dragon King, or the Desert of Destruction."
