[no_vampires_plz]

Twilight stares down at the letters on the napkin Bar has just given her. "You want me to what?"

The letters change.

"What, now??"

They change again.

"B-but I don't know anything about making mixed drinks! How am I supposed to--oh." Her expression changes from concerned to pleased as a very thick book of cocktail recipes appears on the countertop. "Thank you."

After several minutes of flipping through the book and taking notes, Twilight trots around to the back side of the Bar and magically lifts a piece of chalk to write down the evening's specials.

Blue Diamond
Pinky
Rainbow Brew
...

Twilight flips through the book. Thinks. Flips through the book some more. Thinks some more. Finally, she leaves a space and writes the following on the bottom edge of the Specials board:

Help me find a recipe that fits Fluttershy and your drink is free.

This is the second little... pony that this baker has seen, but she's still not over the strangeness of it yet.

"Evening," she greets the purple pony with a smile, setting the much-depleted tray of baked goods on the bar. "Bar has you tending, tonight?"

"Apparently," says Twilight with a shrug. (Never seen a pony shrug before? You have now.) "Can I get you anything?"

"The Magic Star one sounds good," she replies, after a moment of thought.

"You're friends with Fluttershy?"

"Yeah, she's one of my best friends," says Twilight as she turns to search the shelves for liqueurs. "I guess you've met her here?"

[sunbaked_baker]

"Just once, out back," Rae smiles. "She was nice."

If, of course, a bit shy.

"I had never met a talking pony pegasus before."

Twilight might smell John before she sees him - it's a triple-degree day back home, and cows don't clean up after themselves.

He plops down on a barstool. The sight of Twilight behind the bar makes him do a double-take.

"You sure you're in the right place there?"

They do in Equestria! But this isn't Equestria, so... yeah. Twilight is more than a little alarmed by that smell, and it shows on her face despite her best efforts to keep a neutral expression.

"...this is where you're supposed to be to tend bar. Right?"

John shrugs. "Looks like it, but - wait, how can you talk?"

Applied phlebotinum, go!

"The same way you can. Where I come from, everypony can talk."

John thinks for a bit, then shrugs. "Ain't gonna argue with that." Not in Milliways he's not.

"Got any gin?"

"Now, why do I think the magic star has no magic, nor stars?"

Fin leans against the bar casually.

"It has starfruit as a garnish, and I'll use magic to make it," says Twilight, a touch defensively. "That counts."

[sidhe_king]

"Oh, really?" He looks interested for a moment, grinning. "Now that I'd stand to see."

Pay no mind to the fact that he's already standing.

"Alright." Twilight pulls out the relevant liqueur bottles (which she left accessible after mixing Sunshine's drink) and starts pouring them into a cocktail shaker. All without touching any of them.

[sidhe_king]

"Oh, very nice, lass. You practice that much?"

[pattersongs]

"Interesting selections," says the not-human, probably-not-anything-else-Twilight-recognizes fellow thoughtfully eyeing the chalkboard. "Can't say I can positively identify any. Too many possible ingredients. Interesting names, though."

"Thank you. I picked them because... they..."

She trails off, staring at the... um... entity?

"...this is going to sound rude, but what exactly are you?"

[pattersongs]

"Could ask same question of you. Don't think you're elcor," says Mordin with a cheerful grin. "Wrong face, no knuckle-walking, too much use of biotics. Dr. Mordin Solus, at your service. I'm a salarian, from world called Mannovai."

"Twilight Sparkle. I'm a unicorn, from Equestria," says Twilight. "What's a 'biotic'?"

[pattersongs]

"Pleased to meet you," says Mordin. "Biotic abilities in my galaxy mean any number of abilities to manipulate mass, forces, and so on through energy fields. Manipulating objects without touching, for example."

[claudiometer]

...There's a unicorn behind the bar. oooookay then! (But then, Milliways. It has everything, apparently including unicorns.)
"Who's Fluttershy?" Claudia says. She's partly stopping because she can't help wondering how one successfully bartends with hooves, but... well, she's been working all day. That merits a drink, right?

"She's a friend of mine from home," explains Twilight. "All the drinks are themed after me and my friends, but I can't find anything in the book that fits Fluttershy."

[claudiometer]

"Gotcha." Claudia frowns a little. "Well, drink-mixing isn't so much my thing, but... what's she like?"
Maybe they can hit on something that way. It's worth a shot, right?

Twilight sits back on her haunches, considering how to answer that. "She's a pegasus," she begins. "She's a little older than me... her special talent is being good with animals, so she's kind of the town veterinarian. She's really quiet and shy, but incredibly nice and accommodating to everyone."

[claudiometer]

"Well, obviously you don't want any hard liquor in there, then. I might even go so far as to say it should be entirely non-alcoholic."
