[Out of Milliways: Strictly speaking, the trouble is right *outside* of Rivet City.... Contains dialog from Fallout 3: Broken Steel.]
Ellen slips into Milliways with Dogmeat at her heels. "I need to get somewhere fast when I go home," she says, approaching the Bar. "Can I get some meat and water for Dogmeat, and... I don't know, can I buy a proper saddle for Shiphrah and Puah with this?"
She slides a faintly jingling bag onto the bartop. It disappears, and a saddle appears, but Ellen's tab goes up anyway.
"Oh dear... well, I'll pay the rest of it off later," Ellen says. "This will do nicely, I think. Thank you."
She'll take it outside to saddle up her cow once Dogmeat's done eating. She needs the extra time to get her combat armor on anyway; Officer Lepelletier said the bandits were pretty aggressive, and she's not about to head into that unprotected. Catch her wherever you like if you want an explanation, or even just to say hi.

She grunts a little as she pulls herself up and swings a leg over the Brahmin's rump.
"Um. Is your horse okay with stony ground? I don't really know how they deal with that."

He unlatches the main paddock gate and opens it for her, its an easy movement for him and his horse as they do it quite often.

The heads moo, but don't appear too annoyed about it.
"Okay. I think we're good. Dogmeat will be coming with us, but Fawkes is back at the Citadel, so if you see anybody huge and green where we're going, you can assume they're hostile."

That seemed to work last time.

And off they go.
