(OOM:The world changes.)
There was so much to be done but it was agreed that a small rest would make sense. Not a full night's sleep but some time in a proper bed. Sam's leg was hurting again as he opened the door to his room in the Abhorsen's House and found Milliways staring back at him.

Quickly he steps through for fear it won't be there again, the last time he was here feels a lifetime ago and the weight of the Milliways' Dead is strange. He walks towards fire with a small limp as the lights reflect off his new surcoat of the gold royal towers crossed with the Wallmaker's silver trowel.

Once he sits down, he ends up staring into the fire and trying to get his thoughts in order but he's not sure it will work any better here than at the Abhorsen's House.

"Some absurdity is nice, its a reminder that this is Milliways."

"Indeed," Teja says, "it must be a good change from having to battle the truly gruesome Dead."

"That's not going to stop until the Old Kingdom's saved but it won't be my duty."

"You have that" -- pause while he remembers the name -- "Lirael now to do these things."

"When it comes to a fight against the Dead, we need every weapon. Its just that I won't have to go into Death or face the necromancer,"

Also it means Lirael is more in charge of the situation.

"But now, you can make weapons," Teja says.

"Yes, I did that while I was traveling. I spelled the sword I bought."

"If you need not leave at once," Teja says, "you should spell a sword tomorrow while I am making it, weaving your magic into its layers as it turns ito a sword, so magic and sword will be one: - and then, you may see what it can do!"

"I need to check my door, but I'd like that."

"So would I," Teja says. "I would be glad to help with your fight thus. After all, the world of two of my dearest friends is at stake."

"It is. I've missed you, Teja and I'm glad to have found a door again."

"My help shall be yours, whatever you require," Teja says.

Indeed, he missed Sameth as well. Even though the young man must still learn how to speak his mind clearly.

He's working on it though Lirael doesn't listen to him that much, "Thank you."

Teja nods, quiet and earnest.-

At that moment, the two cats that had followed Teja in return from the kitchen, where they had plundered the juiciest bits of demon bunny from a certain dog's food bowl.

Seeing Sameth, the little grey cat jumps onto his lap while the tabby female curls up on his feet.

Sam's smile grows as he pets the two cats, "Hello, I've missed you too."

"It is clear they remember you, and bid you welcome," Teja says, with a little smile.

"They do and its nice and warm here."

Teja picks up his guitar again. "So you may relax awhile, with our friends and their warm welcome," he says, starting to play a tune that sounds vaguely jazzy.

He must have picked that up in New Orleans, goign with Yrael.

"I will,"

The music and the cats are soothing and soon Sameth drifts off to sleep.

Teja keeps playing. Thady the waitrat brings him his usual well-watered red wine eventually.

There will be time for work and more words tomorrow.-
