There is a Colonel out behind a bar. Hanging from one of the nearest trees is a punching bag...that the Colonel is doing his best to demolish. Col. Quaritch is both getting exercise and working out a bit of stress...but that's not to say he would mind some company.

Any takers?

Depends. How does he feel about 5'3" Korean-looking young women in closely fitted black power armor? With a number of interesting emblems and color bars painted on the upper left part of the armor's chest, mind, identification has its place- anyway, that's who's come out from the Bar to have a look at the bag, but she's willing to just stop and wait her turn. It's only polite.

"Morning, Colonel," Ellen says with a smile. "Sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt- I can wait until you're done."

"Not so much you as the bag," Ellen says, "at least, not yet. This-" She indicates the black gear she has on. "I just got this set of power armor a little while ago and I'm not really used to moving in it the way I was in my own set, so I was going to see what I could do about exercising with it on..."

"I don't think it's quite that much of a boost," Ellen says. "I'd have to be wearing a powerfist for that. Pneumatic pistons in the knuckles."

Still, when she squares up and throws the first blow at the bag, it rocks pretty impressively. The suit moves fairly fluidly, too- it's obviously not designed for martial artists or anything, but it's built for a fair range of motion and action.

"I wouldn't mind learning about them," Ellen admits as she essays a kick. It's equally augmented, although not quite as easily done as the thrown punch due to the shape of the leg segments. "Anything that gives me a better chance of not dying of Deathclaw out in the Wastes is a good thing to investigate."

"They're..." Ellen hesitates. "Not that difficult thanks to the Brotherhood, but... I don't think they use the same technology as you. Do your AMP suits have any micro-chips in them?

"The Brotherhood of Steel has a pretty good stock of spare parts to begin with," Ellen says. "We scavenge everything technological. Right now the Scribes are restoring our giant robot's optical systems using lenses extracted from pre-war cameras. Every time an armored Brother dies, if it's at all physically possible, somebody retrieves his or her armor. Or as much of it as they can, anyway."

"I didn't find out he was operational until they day they first deployed him," Ellen says. "His name is Liberty Prime. He was originally meant for the campaign to drive the Chinese out of Alaska, but they didn't have him ready to go in time, and then the Great War happened- anyway, we used him for a while in our war against the Enclave, and then they dropped an orbital strike on him so we're busy trying to get him to work again."

This kind of 'no, really, my world seriously is that far off its rocker' info dump is kind of par for the course in Ellen's life.
