On any given day, Silas habitually wears opaque clothes with long sleeves, and long trousers. Only one of those is he wearing today; the bar has replaced his shirt with a pair of white feather wings, leaving him topless. He's in a pair of white loose pants, white hair tousled from sleeping late, and once he reaches the bar he stops, looking down. "...Oh. My."
Come see what Halloween has done to one of Milliways' albino population.

"Mon Dieu," he murmurs. "What are you?"

"A skeleton, I believe," Yrael says, shrugging. He's already tall and thin. The bone-paint just accentuates it. "Nothing... elaborate, this year, thank the Landlord."

"Though she won't give me a shirt."

"...Really?" he asks, though it makes him smile for a moment until his mouth settled back. "I'm no angel, you know that."

Silas is about as close to joking as he can really get right now, at least until Yrael makes him laugh. "I feel like I can't laugh anymore."

"You will, I believe," Yrael adds, more sincerely. "In time."

"You mentioned going to New Orleans once...I think now might be as good a time as any to go, if you're still willing to let me."

"We can go whenever you want. If you want to go now, we will go now. Halloween is always big in the Big Easy." Not as big as Mardi Gras, but still substantial.

Not that New Orleans is his home, but Silas can't really get over Yrael wanting to live in the bar.

Silas shudders once, rolling his shoulders and attempting to not think about the fact that he's still unable to leave freely. "Do you think this would stay on if I left?"

"You must think I'm terribly ungrateful."
no subject
"I do not think you are terribly ungrateful. I think you are reacting to a bad situation better than anyone should expect you to."

The wings only end up with a few bits of marabou left on the floor, and Silas doesn't notice; he can't see it while they're on.

He straightens up eventually and brushes his hair back from his face. "Will you take me to New Orleans?"
no subject
"Of could I will. Would you wish to go to New Orleans tonight?" Yrael offers.

Now to define 'interesting...'
The wide, brightly-lit street at the mouth of the alley they enter is busy people in costume, going to and coming from various Halloween parties. Though the evening is chilly, there are some whose costumes leave them scantily-clad, mingling with the silly, the geeky and the grotesque sorts of costumes. Truly, a half-dressed angel and a tall, pale skeleton in a suit do not stand out at all among this crowd.

"This is New Orleans?"

"This is part of what they call the French Quarter, the oldest neighborhood of the city, and current hub of music, entertainment and good food."
