Urquhart is on a sofa by the fireplace, apparently fast asleep.

The big solid white-and-brown spotted dog lying over his feet actually is sleeping, and snoring loudly.

Urquhart takes a deep breath and lifts a weary hand to pat the dog.

"Good dog, Franz," he murmurs.

The dog licks his hand.

Urquhart chuckles.

Discretion may be the better part of valor, here, even if valor has never carried much weight with Yrael. The deed is done, in any case. Perhaps it would be best to slip away quietly now, and not be caught at the scene of the crime. At least on some level, Urquhart is already awake. This venture becomes... perilous. >_>

Urquhart lifts his head and tries to peer over the arm of the sofa, blearily looking for the source of the smell.

There is totally not a tail showing from under the couch, from where something small and white and fuzzy might be hiding, oh no.

Urquhart reaches out to try and touch the tail.

"A cat doesn't smell like that..."

It might be Ferdinand, who has a mostly white tail. On the other hand, it might be Yrael.

The tail twitches under the touch, waving slightly. Nothing of interest here!

"Hello, you," Urquhart says, gently and playfully tugging.

The reaction should show him which cat or not!cat this is.

Eeeek. There may be claws flailing for purchase to keep from being tugged out from under the couch, but the damage is done. Yrael will endeavor to make the best of it.

"Oh! Good day, Urquhart."

"Good day, Yrael," Urquhart says. "Do you happen to know what that smell is?"

"I do not smell anything out of the ordinary," says the not'cat, nonchalantly cleaning his paw. "The smell of the dog is rather overwhelming, in any case."

"You can't miss it!" Urquhart says. "It smells rather acrid, and a bit -- green?"

He is peering down at his hair, still not letting go of the cat's tail, however gentle his touch may be.

"You possess a skill I do not have, if you can smell colors," replies the cat, lightly, his tail twitching against Urquhart's hold. "I can only smell smells."

Urquhart rolls his eyes further down to catch sight of the end of his hair.

"My hair!" he says. "There's a green bit in it now!"

"How strange!" says the cat, looking surprised. "Does your hair change color like the leaves in autumn?"

"It didn't used to," Urquhart says. "You never can tell with Milliways. But I think somebody did this on purpose."

He peers at Yrael.

"What reason would anyone have to do such a thing? It sounds silly to me," sniffs the cat, stretching and yawning.

"Somebody made part of my hair blue before?" Urquhart says.

"I noticed that, of course. I thought it might have been some sort of statement you making, wearing a piece of your hair blue."

"I prefer to make my statements with words," Urquahrt says. "Or failing that, crossbow bolts."
