Over in one corner of the bar today there is a young man with a tiny, very sharp carving knife and a few pieces of bleached-white bone, finessing them into a filigree pattern vaguely reminiscent of a long-tailed bird, something like a peacock or bird of paradise. He's fairly engrossed in his work, not looking up very often, but he's gently, fluidly rocking in time to the tune he's humming under his breath, something dark and haunting but beautiful at the same time.

Come see how far he's gotten?

Since this is the bar at the end of the universe, perhaps it isn't quite so surprising there's a heavily furred and muscled Siberian Tiger stalking through the bar, her coat frosted with snow.

Maybe it's slightly more surprising that the tiger makes the effort to flick the melting, icy water off the tip of her tail at the fae as she passes. Someone has to keep the not!human community on their toes.

It's entirely possible she's a bit spun up after hounding demon bunnies all afternoon.

Someone has to. Even like this, Katya's Muscovite accent is blatant. You're so intense, you'll scare the children.

The possibly theoretical children, but still. There could be some, and they would obviously be terrified of the fae. And definitely not of the tiger.

Nope.

Her fur ripples as the melting frost tickles.

Being intense, with a knife. She retorts, brightly. Even Ded Moroz would have a difficult time overcoming that handicap.

No, not nearly cold enough. Katya agrees, and never mind how she manages to look that impish with a tiger face. I could help with that.

Yes, you are. She pounces up onto the booth divider opposite him, settling comfortably. A bar. A very big one, actually.

... Da? You are expecting me to juggle now? She asks cheerfully, making herself as insolently comfortable as only a cat can. I did not know your kind were such demanding creatures.

There is a tall dark Goth with a little black cat on his shoulder, watching Finvarra work on that small ornament.

"Amazing," he breathes.

"I do not mind," Teja says. "I am amazed indeed by that skilful, tiny ornament that you are making: - so unlike that which I make in my forge!"

"It still is very small and difficult work," Teja says. "I do not work in such soft stuff often -- metal, enamel, stone are what I mostly craft."

"I would not dare to poach in your realms," Teja says.

"But it is your special skill, and there are enough things already that I may make and sell," Teja says.

There's really no way to watch someone in the corner of the bar room without being noticeable, but the girl watching Finvarra carving the piece of bone does her best to be, at least, unobtrusive.

Rae smiles, and takes a seat next to his.

"What are you carving?"

"They're very pretty," she replies, marveling at the intricate work. Though, she doesn't know how she'd feel, wearing bits of something dead.

"Is it a gift for Solstice?" Rae needs to be thinking about what to get her mom and Charlie.

"I need to to figure out what to get my mom and Charlie..." Oh! She must remember her manners. "What would you like for Solstice?"

"We always give gifts at Solstice. Winter Solstice at least," she grins, "Though I get presents at Summer Solstice, too, because it's my birthday."

"I'll have to think of something to give you."
