(no subject)

Rory walks into the bar, looking a little tired but glad.

Classes were back in and they were going decently so far.

Now if there was someone here who would buy her a sorely needed drink.

"If you're anything like your mom than you'll share her coffee addiction I guess, so I'll skip that one. Um... most interesting place you've traveled to?" he continues.

[OOC: sure...]

"Ahhh Prague," he recalls fondly, forgetting the line of questioning for now.

"Did some counter espionage work there during the War and spent a night in lock-up. I still remember the ridiculous bureaucracy at the Ministries when I was trying to file the release form. Damned Form 27-B." Indy still fumes a little at the recollection.

"I met Franz Kafka there you know? He was working at the Ministry of Insurance at the time. He helped me get all the paperwork done. Shit, without him I'd probably still be there."

He grins at her. "I've met a lot of people dear. I'm pretty well-traveled you know. S'what comes of being dragged half way round the world during your childhood. I didn't have a regular upbringing, but I met some important folk."

"Um... let's see... Puccini, Theodore Roosevelt, Ned Lawrence, Howard Carter, Tolstoy, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle... all before I was 15."

"No it wasn't actually," he replies grimly.

"I'd rather have been playing ball or hanging out with my friends to be honest. But dad had his work... and I had my nanny. I guess looking back, I wouldn't trade in those experiences for the world. But at the time... it sucked."

"Your mom's full of good decisions," he smirks.

Indy laughs and knocks a good measure of his whisky back. "Yeah... usually. I'm not quite sure she realizes what's she's got herself into wiht me though."

He smiles to show he wasn't inferring anything bad about himself. "You know I'll be good to her right?"

[identity profile] henry-jones-jr.livejournal.com 2005-01-16 11:02 pm (UTC)(link)
"Oh yeah... I've already had a taste of some of that 'hurt'," he snickers. "How is the prankster kid working out for you anyway?"

[identity profile] henry-jones-jr.livejournal.com 2005-01-16 11:10 pm (UTC)(link)
"Yeah... I suppose. You see it going anywhere?" he probes further.

"You and George whatisname..." he clarifies with a raised eyebrow. "Why, who d'you think I meant?"

He smiles fondly. "That you are. Make them the best years of your life kid... 'cause that's what college is all about. No regrets."

"I'm 38 and I don't regret a thing... and that reminds me..." He looks down, apprently searching for something around his stool. "Now where did I leave my cane?"

[identity profile] henry-jones-jr.livejournal.com 2005-01-17 12:55 am (UTC)(link)
"Hm? The cane? Oh... it was your mom's idea... she likes that kind of thing evidently," he smirks.

"Kidding! I was being facetitious about the age thing," he explains and quickly takes a drink to cover his sheepishness.

"I know," he agrees with a grin. "But it's a good weird though. I'm certainly not complaining."

"Sure... you know where I am if you need a drink anytime." Indy wacthes Lorelai fondly for a few moments. "Tell her to come see me when you're through if you wouldn't mind."
