With everything so strange in the main bar area Ako had thought about camping out somewhere near the lake. She'd read the book on building an igloo last year, it couldn't really be that hard. Right?

Yes, yes it could.

If someone would come and help Ako out of the snowbank that just collapsed under her she would be much obliged.

That snowbank makes excellent cover! Nepeta dodges behind it as soon as she can, panting.

It covers a whole lot of things. Like the fact that the crust on top is only almost strong enough to take a person's weight.

"Nepeta-san? Is that you?"

Ako is bundled up like the Michelin Man's little sister. Because it's crazy cold out.

"Ako?"

Nepeta's pretty bundled too, although most of it's camouflaged under her usual green longcoat.

"Yeah. Can you help me out? I'm kind of stuck."

"No purroblem!"

She starts shoveling with both hands at the snowbank, aiming for where she hears Ako's voice.

Ako makes what progress she can on her end now that she has a goal besides 'outta here' and they meet somewhere in the middle. The cold, snowy middle.

"Hey Nepeta-san."

"Hi," she says. "What are you doing out here? It's gotten pawfully dangerous!"

"I thought I might try camping out here where there isn't much to fall down in case there was another earthquake."

"I think I want to go back inside now."

"I'm going that way! We should go together. Espurrcially since there's a bunker over that way --" She flicks her tail in its direction. "-- that could decide to start shooting again any meowment."

"That sounds good. I should get some sort of armor too," says Ako, "Things are getting more and more dangerous here."

"I don't have any armeowr," she says, "but I've got this --"

She equips a heavy pelt and holds it out. It's as much scaly as furry, and the hide is extremely thick.

"Thank-you Nepeta-san," says Ako as she takes it and wraps it around herself as much for another layer against the wind as for shrapnel from BRAD's attacks. Then, heading back towards the bar, "How have you been?"

"..."

Yeah, answering that may have to wait until they're inside.
