Tumnus' days are rather busy so he must work to find time to write his book and he has a moment. Due to some travel troubles, he is not needed and thus can finally put to paper the chronology that has been bothering him.
When he enters his room and finds Milliways, he looks around the rubble in confusion before going to the counter to get paper and a pen.
Then he sets to constructing the timeline, he is quite certain that he has the proper chronology of the early kings of Narnia. It is slightly difficult that his sources are in his room but those can be checked later and perhaps he can have some of the fine tea here.

The woman at the nearby table certainly thinks so. She has a teapot sitting right next to her crown.
And if, at some point, Tumnus looks in her direction, he'll get a warm smile and a "Good evening."

Once his pen is set down, he nods and smiles to her, she reminds him of home in a way he rarely sees here, "Good evening. I hope it is a fine one."
no subject
"I hope yours is as well.
"I'm Amy."

As he's sitting, it's not possible to fully bow but he manages a half one.

And then smiles.
"My brother is from Narnia.
"Caspian."

He respects and serves all the kings and queens of Narnia but Lucy will ever be his friend first.
no subject
She's not clear on just how much time, though enough for there to have been nine other Caspians, at the very least.
"I'm not Narnian myself," she adds.

Time does odd twists here and they make Tumnus' head hurt.
no subject
The way you do, of course.

He smiles as he says it for there is a peace here he enjoys.

"I don't believe I've met a faun before. It's an honor."

"My husband is the king of a country called Ambergeldar."

Queens are queens and Lucy and Susan might have begun as girls but they are Queens of Narnia. Perhaps this has provided him an odd sense of what queens are like.

"I also got Health, Cheerfulness, and Good Teeth."
Among other things.

It does seem like what a number of his friends in the forest would do. Fauns and Dryads at times can be well meaning but rather silly if given the chance.

"I'd be so frightfully dull if I weren't Ordinary."

Amy is very fond of her husband.

Queens tend to be willing to talk of their kingdoms.
"What would you like to know?"
no subject
It might help him find better ways to write of Narnia.

"Let's see . . .
"I understand our Forest of Faraway is at least evocative of Narnia. Or so I'm told.
"We haven't the Talking Beasts the way you do, though we do have dragons who talk."

"Excellent palace security.
"And very fond of apple pastries."

"And I think he likes us, too.
"He seems very fond of my daughter, at least.
"Susan is four, and I think everyone is very fond of her."

Tumnus' favorite part of Spring is when all the children of Narnia come to dance in the trees.

Which is a lovely thought but all of those he's met here who know other Narnians have been kind.

"Thank you," she says.
"And what would you tell me of Narnia, if I asked you to tell me of it?"
no subject
"That it is flourishing as it should and has not for too many long years. Narnia's rulers are kind and constantly learning how they may best serve her and her people."
no subject
"And if I asked you for a favorite sight or view or place, what would you describe to me?"
no subject

"And how would you describe it?"

no subject
"And you talk about it like it's home."

It took time to rebuild it after the wolves attacked but it's whole again.

"But there's not always a lot of time for a Queen to go visiting.
"Especially a Queen with four small children."
no subject
That is true of Tumnus' but he is sorry it's not true for Amy.
no subject
"Still, I cannot really complain."

"Perhaps when the twins are a little older, we shall arrange a visit to their grandparents."
